Lost two tires and wheels. Towing company took me to Brown. I didn't realize they charge over twice what any other company in the area charges. They quoted me $700 for new tires and wheels what everyone else quoted for 4 wheels and tires better suited to our climate - my tires were for snow not rain. When I told Brown I wanted better tires, they said they would charge me $250 for "restocking charges" even though everything was new. I have since found out from their other, former, customers that they play this game with everybody. I have heard they charge $85 for an oil change, an 180% increase over Jiffy Lube.
I went along with their threat cos I wasn't going to pay $250 for nothing. They gave me the contract when I got my truck back. No mention of a restocking charge. So I guess sheer blackmail which I fell for.
Avoid this company. If there is anybody with good to say about them, then go ahead. No one I know has had a good experience.

This is just a rehash of report #587296 . The author has changed it a bit to make it seem like he's not such a dumbass. His original complaint was that this establishment charged a lot more than they did on the Internet. Duh!
Basically, he bought tires and wheels without shopping around and now is upset because he paid too much. No surprise there.

The original poster reported Brown Auto.
His subject said brown auto brown toyota, brown honda, brown foreign auto. He did NOT say what he owned and even if he did, the manufacturer cant be blaimed.
You lost two tires and wheels. Did you tell the towing company to take you to Browns?
What is the make of your truck and tire size? Either way, when they quoted you the price you could have refused and had your truck towed elsewhere.
