I don't even know you Amy, but it's interesting how two creatives in San Diego have the say exact problem with Bryan Sebeckis -- failure to pay! Bryan claims that I'm a bad designer and that I never gave him what he wanted, yet he never responded this way in emails. He never mentioned once to stop work but too in fact continue on more concepts. Yes, Bryan Sebeckis is a con artist and his list on Rip Off Report will only grow because of his business practices. I shall print this out -- more proof for my court case!

Amy Fellows was hired to do a photo shoot. The client did not like the photos and they did not meet the specifications given to the photographer. After going back and forth with the client, even though the problems were not corrected, full payment was made within a reasonable time (even though there were still problems with the work). Hired contractors have responsibilities as well. Be careful when you hire a photographer that handles business this way.

For a debt of this size, the best thing you can do is file a small claims lawsuit. California has a very helpful self help website where you can actually fill out the small claims forms online and take them to the proper court: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/selfhelp/ It cost around $20 to file a small claims lawsuit and $30 to have the Sheriff's department serve it. In addition to the website listed above, the California State Bar offers a nice section on how to handle your small claims case: http://www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calbar/calbar_generic.jsp?cid=10581&id=2175 Yourt trial will generally be about 4-6 weeks after you file the lawsuit. Good luck!
