My customers rent from the big 3 truck rental companies so I've seen the contracts. Budget's contracts are relatively short and they have a separate insurance sheet to fill out where is says very plainly that overhead damage is not covered. She insurance sheet does not have much on it so nothing is buried anywhere. I dont know about you, but I read my contracts. Contracts are in place so that both parties know what to expect in certain situations. Without them, there would be no recourse. They are there to spell everything out. So why would you be surprised to get a bill for overhead damage if the contract says overhead damage is not covered? Where is the fraud? Don't we all have a responsibility to live up to our obligations? If I want to start my own business, and I have a contract, and you accept it, why should I be responsible when you dont want to live up to your obligation? What can I do to get you to live up to your obligation? What recourse do I have? In the business I work for, I have contracts too. I've stared people in the face, told them everything, had them initial next to it, told them again, and still have had people tell me that no one ever told them. There are bad businesses out there, but there are far more stupid people that dont know what the term responsibility means let alone practice it. Its always someone else's fault. Lets report every bad business on this site. Its a good thing. But let's take responsibility for our own actions and not report good businesses that follow their end of the contract because we either dont want to take the responsibility for our actions and refuse to read the contract. Not everyone is out to get you. If you (directed to people in general) are a person that feels everyone is out to get you, then perhaps you need to grow up and talk responsibility for your life.

While there is 40 pages of agreement, and little time and 50 people behind you. Your sense of courtesy stops you from bothering and get on. Those Rental places bank on your rush, than tell you you didn't read the contract. Really. Had you used common sense, the agent would have told you you're holding up the line, and made you move anyway. Pleasure vacation? anyone? Not me. There is no place like home.

I wish there was a website that truly helps the consumer from bad companies. It is hard to tell which companies are bad and which ones aren't, on this website. I like to come here try to determine which companies are legitimately bad so that I can avoid them. But then I see complaints like this one, from someone that wants to blame everyone but themselves for their problems. None of the BIG 3 rental truck companies cover overhead damage. It's in Black and White on paper, in more than one place. I see far more consumers on here that dont think it is their responsibilty to read the contracts that they sign. That dillutes things so much that it is hard to determine which businesses are bad and which ones are good. I dont want to do business with bad businesses. But I also dont want to avoid businesses that have bad reputations because the person complaining is filing an illegitimate complaint because they dont read their contract.
