OMG...where do I start... We got into the room, no a/c. Notice there is a unit in the window, go to turn it on, doesn't work. Look to see if it is plugged in, no plug, just wires. Try to turn on standing lamp, doens't work either, check the plug, that is only wires also. Notice a mini fridge, hot inside, check the plug on that, just wires. Look inside, there in a 40 oz bottle of beer, with quarter of it drank. Lovely.

In the bathroom, open the cabinet, it falls off.

the lights on the wall by the bed, no lightbulbs.

Red stains on the carpet, just nasty. The only thing missing were the cockroaches!

Thanks Lee for being on my side. I did report the hotel to the tourism board in Hamilton and I'm sure that they will report to the fire marshall and other divisions, I sent them pictures of the room. As for the Pit Bull in the lobby, that didn't really bother me, it's just the fact that they are now illegal here in Ontario. Since all the attacks on innocent bistandards, they've put in a bill. I think Pony is in the Bible belt, and I hear their ALL quacks down there. Or maybe it doesn't even exist and he's full of sh*t. Thanks again Lee, and don't ever stay at a Budget Inn PS: Ripoff was supposed to post some pictures of the room on here, guess they haven't gotten around to it yet.

This "person" from PONY, AL (couldn't find it on mapquest, must be a 1 traffic light town) probably has never even been out of his county. T , thank you for recognizing him as a Southerner and not an American, whose comments are not represented, All of us from north of the mason dixon line wish we could seperate from them again and keep all of our good schools (harvard, yale, columbia, princeton, brown etc etc etc) all of our financial centers (ny, boston, chicago, phil etc etc) and leave them to their moonshine, incest and pick up trucks with different color doors. I don't know how many Canadians live in Pony but I'm sure it's not many, and I am certain this country gentleman has never been there, so I question where he would get the impetus to make such a comment. I guess high levels of alcoholism, unemployment, racial tensions and apparent disregard by the country at large leave Alabamans a bit miffed, oh well we can only speculate. PS Budget Inn sounds trashy, pit bull in the reception area? Unacceptable, not much hospitality there. Appliances with no plugs, report them to the fire marshal/dept that is not fire safety. PSS Of course there would be more complaints from Yanks than Canucks as there are 10x more of us than you :) Proud to be from the "Constitution State" figure that one out Pony Boy.

Sure he tried to accomodate us, but he sure didn't make us happy. Before we went to the front desk, we took a little tour of the place. Nothing like broken windows on the doors, holes in the walls, stains on the walls and carpet. Sorry, I've stayed at some dives, but this one took the cake. As for the best room, when we checked in he told us that we were getting the BEST room in the place in the cleanest wing of the hotel. As for the dog, if you do your research, Pit Bulls are illegal in Ontario unless they are neutered/spayed, microchiped and have a million dollars liability coverage on them. The dog was NOT neutered, so I'm sure that the rest was NOT done either. And what the hell does me being Canadian do? I've seen more complaints from you yanks then Canadians..... Oh, I see, your a Southerner....

So they did try to rectify the situation with the room (by offering you another one and giving you a partial refund.) But you still blame them for someone else destroying their property? I find it hard to believe that any hotel, especially family run ones would destroy their own property. They have to pay to get all of that repaired. But you seem to think that they did it themselves, and have done that to every room. WHY?

So ... the man at the front desk tried to accommodate you and tried to make you happy, but you were so quick to jump to conclusions that you turned down his attempt to rectify the situation, instead crying "rip off" to the world? You are an extremely rude person. He offered you another room. Why not see what it looked like and perhaps give it a try? Not all hotel rooms are identical, perhaps he was trying to give you the best room in the place? Well now you will never know. As far as the dog ... again you are quick to jump to conclusions. Why do you ASSUME that this is a "family run establishment" just because there was a dog in there? MANY national chain hotels allow pets for a nominal fee, and many people do choose to bring their pets with them if hotels allow it. Oh, now I see you are from Canada. That explains a lot about your "complaint."

When we went to the front desk to let him know what the room looked like, the first thing he offered was another room. Which was out of the question. Why after seeing a room like that would we want to be put into another. As for the housekeeping, it looked like a family run place. The man at the front desk had his dog, a pit bull, with him. What else but a family run place would allow you to have a pet in their establishment. He finally refunded the money, only for one night, when we paid for two and weren't even there for more then 30 minutes. I have filed a complaint with the tourism board in Hamilton. But thought I should let others know NEVER to go and rent a room from that place.

What happened when you went to front to complain?

I'm just wondering because I think the hotel would love to have known about this obvious vandalism. Housekeeping cleans vacuums and changes the linens, they do not check the wires on things though. I hope that you informed the hotel about this.
