My name is Lyle **** of Leoti Ks.  My family has been a long time customer of Burtis Motors.   In Oct. my alternator in My King Ranch Ford F350 FX4 Superduty went out in Denver, Colorado.   I got it fixed "supposedly" and 300 miles later back in Kansas it went out again.  I take it to Burtis Motors who warranty replaced it.   The only problem is they "Burtis" put in the same wrong alternator.  My truck is top of the line and has extras.

That's , in my opinion, why it failed in only 300 miles.   Burtis instead of researching why my alternator went bad just put on the same wrong one to match.   If i was a mechanic I would of caught it no problem, but i'm not a mechanic, and precisely the reason I only take my truck to Ford service dealers, hence to avoid finger pointing like I have been receiving.    I faxed Julie the service manager at burtis motors the following statement from Frontierland Inc, a Ford Dealer in Miles City Montanta.

"Customer states battery light keeps coming on' Already had 2 alt replaced since oct 2011.  "
"Charged battery and checked for draw on charging system. none detected.  Tested ALT,  FOUND TO BE BAD."
"CHECKED ALTERNATOR AND FOUND HAD WRONG ALT INSTALLED.  Removed and replaced alternator and retested for draw-none detected test drove -  good.

Julie still insist they put on the right part because Mike says so.   BS   The part number they put on 6c3z 10346DARM  is for a diesels powerstroke yes, but in NPA remarks which is the service books for Ford it states " for snow plow and camper package"  which my truck obviously has use part number 6c3z-10346-BA   Sorry but when my truck failed after 300 miles Burtis being a Ford service dealer should of noticed that and put on the proper part, or at least stand behind it when they are proven they put on the wrong part.

I have all this in writing from another independent Ford Dealer and they still insist they are right.   Hate to tell ya Julie and Burtis motors.  I have over 21,000 service centers for my equipment in this county and I sure as hell don't treat my customers like this when we make a mistake.    I searched for Burtis Motors in the Better Business Bureau and they do not exist, or I would be writing a complaint letter there also.   We will see what an attorney thinks about this one.

The alternator that Burtis Motor Co., put on your vehicle was a 6c3z-10346-DARM which is a new alternator.  Shortly

after this repair Ford Motor Company changed the part number to 6c3z-10346-BA, which is a remanufactured alternator.

They are the same alternator, other than one is new and one is remanufactured.  Burtis Motor Company repaired your

vehicle under warranty by Ford Motor Company standards.

Mr Lyle Geyer, I would like to let you know you are a 100% right about the wrong part being installed, furthermore by them telling you that there isn't an Electrical problem" is half truthful for there are things like a "parasitic draw"& a "phantom" as well these will not show up on a draw test for a "wiggle test" are done as well to see if there is a drop in voltage. so for the other test take more time and are over look so much that some don't give it a second thought I would tell you that your better off going elsewhere to see if these problems exist and have them fix plus i would have a deep cycle battery's installed like the red or yellow top optima that are very good to have in your Ford King Ranch.
