same way in which millions upon millions of Americans were tricked into taking out ARM's (Adjustable Rate Mortgages) and Interest Only Mortgages in the USA.

It's called 'manipulation'.

You can read "MANIPULATION POEM" right here at this site.

Plase Tell Me...How Do They "MAKE YOU" To Do Anything?

Was it a submachine gun, long knife, semi-automatic, rocket launcher, hand grenade???

How does this dealership or any dealership "make you" do anything?  If you didn't like the idea of writing post dated checks (and you shouldn't), then you simply don't do it!  How hard is that to understand?  Secondly, if you even need to consider writing post dated checks, did it ever occur to you maybe you can't afford the car???

Whatever gave you the idea this dealership, or any other, is a charity?  They are in business to make money, to turn a profit!  There's nothing illegal, immoral or unethical about making a profit.  There's nothing illegal, immoral or unethical about a sales person doing their job.  Just like there's nothing wrong with your doctor doing his/her job.

In the final analysis, YOU participated in this STUPID scheme of writing post dated checks.  YOU failed to make the deposit to cover YOUR bad check.  YOU had to forfeit the car because of YOUR actions.  YOU attempted to enter into a transaction which YOU could not afford because YOU failed to consider YOUR financial condition before YOU decided YOU "just had to have this car"!

At Butler Toyota, we take each and every customer very seriously.  Our customer's satisfaction is paramount to us.  It is what has allowed us to continue in business 40 years.

In reply to your complaint against Butler Toyota in Macon,GA, I would like to share that every commitment we make to a customer we put in writing.  If a customer writes a "hold" check, we ask them how long we should keep the check before presenting it to the bank.  When customers tells us to hold the check for two weeks, we sit on the check for two weeks.  We cannot hold a check indefinitely and it is the customers responsibility to ensure that money is in the bank when they promised.  After repeated attempts to resolve a held check, we can be left with no choice but to ask for the car back.  I am sorry your check bounced.
