Oil change coupons ALWAYS state "For most vehicles", which usually means the smallest cars, and almost NEVER is good for an SUV, truck, etc. Look at every similar coupon you can find anywhere and you'll see this is so. Given the years you used them, I surmise maybe there wasn't the best communication or bedside manner on their part. Not too likely, but it's possible that whatever jostling parts of the front end went through might have loosened gunk covering up an existing leak or bad seal, resulting in the sudden onset of bad AC symptoms. Wouldn't explain the sudden death of any electrical motors though, unless a connection loosened up somewhere and hasn't been properly diagnosed as such. How thoroughly have, or has, all these issues been checked out? Have you had all leads and connectors related to the AC thoroughly examined?

I am the Store Manager at C&R Tire on Tatum Blvd. I would like to first thank you for being a customer since 2007, and also try to answer some of your concerns over your last repair. The coupon you brought in is one we offer to all customers on our Web page; the coupon clearly states "oil change $24.99, valid on most vehicles, up to 5 quarts, additional disposal fee of $3.50. The vehicle you brought in is a 6 quart system, so an additional charge for 1 quart of oil is $2.80.
$24.99 oil change + $3.50 disposal fee + $2.80 additional quart +sales tax of $1.97 = $33.26, not $48.27
These figures are clearly stated on your repair order. The belts we installed only make your compressor turn; they have no connection to your Freon system which is a sealed system much like a balloon. If the balloon is low, it has a leak just like your AC system being low. The vehicle holds 3lbs of Freon and only 2lbs were recovered leaving your system 1 lb low. This has no mechanical connection to your AC belt breaking from the vehicle, Also, there is absolutely no mechanical connection to your rear blower motor which is powered by electricity and not by Freon. The rear motor is receiving power and ground but will not turn on, which means the motor is just bad and needs to be replaced.
As far as receiving a different quote from someone else, I personally called a local G.M. garage (Van's Chevrolet) and was quoted $327.74 w/out sales tax to diagnose and replace the rear blower motor. We quoted you $218.47 w/tax, and you were given a copy of said quote, so I am confused at the $277.00 amount.
The final concern you have is the number of items we suggested to you due to mileage, time and condition of said items on your vehicle. We perform a courtesy inspection of all vehicles that come to our shop, and any vehicles over 60,000 miles we bring to the customers attention whether or not certain items are still original. The reason for this is the fact that we live in whats considered an extreme temperature state and we all seem to put a tremendous amount of miles on our vehicles, such as yours that is only 10 years old but has 132,610 miles on it.
The part in question from your concern are the shock absorbers. We don't test drive for this, we simply check to see if they are original to the vehicle and suggest them due to mileage. Monroe Corporation, the leading manufacturer of aftermarket shocks, recommends replacement every 75,000 miles due to normal wear and tear.
The fact is if you can find another reputable establishment to give you in writing that we did something wrong in our repairs I will gladly make it right and apologize to you for our mistake, but until then we stand behind our work and our diagnosis. As always, we give everything aside from brakes and alignments a 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty, the best in the Valley. I can be reached at any time at the Tatum location at 602-457-2136.
Thanks for your time.
