We signed up with Cablevision for the "Triple Play" package where they charge $29.95/mo for each service, cable, phone and internet. (of course when you sign up they fail to tell you about ALL the charges involved.)

In August we received a letter stating that our promotion time was up. Since it was only a year promo, we weren't sure what the charges would be. They jump the price tremendously on all the services. At the time we received the letter, we called and asked if we could continue the services at the $29.95/mo rate. The person we spoke to said that they could do that and to call closer to the end of the term.

The end of the term is coming up at the end of this week so we called today to have them continue with the pricing. We were told by 3 people that they wouldn't honor that and conveinently the call where the guy told us we could continue on this plan wasn't recorded.

We finally ended up speaking to a supervisor who told us that she would have to find out if they could do it in their system and if they could, then they would continue the pricing. She called back a little later saying there is no way they can keep the pricing in the system which I find to be a load of BS. There is always a way around the system.

My biggest problem isn't the fact that the price is going up, it's that they said they could keep the pricing at the promotional rate and then when we called about it again they said they can't. Now I have 2 days to find a more affordable service since they want to charge us over $60 for a pretty basic cable service and $45 for internet.

I replied to their email on September 8th and I still haven't gotten a response. I reported them to the better business bureau but so far that has done no good either.

I sent an email to Cablevision after no one would help me over the phone. This is their reply: --------------------------- Response (Matt H.) - 09/08/2006 08:40 AM Good morning valued customer, Thank you for your email. I understand and am happy to assist you. I do apologize that you were given incorrect information. When a promotion expires, it cannot be renewed unless there are extreme circumstances. If you need additional assistance, please contact customer service. Thank you for choosing Cablevision. Matt H. Shared Services ------------------------------- Thanks for nothing! I guess keeping their customers happy is not high on their list.
