Due to unemployment, my household income went down $5K/month. The breadwinner of the house lost his job when economy started to decline late last fall. He was out of work 6 months. I tried my best to maintain all the bills with only $2K month, noting it was $7K month. This being said I did well keeping up with credit card payments, US Bank being one of them, however went behind on mortgage, RV and truck. Because of that US Bank took complete and utmost advantage of the law just put in motion allowing creditors to run your credit periodically, but in US bank case every month. If behind with someone else, add insult to injury and jack up your interest rate with the creditor who is being paid on time from 14% to 34%. Give me a break already. As if it isn't enough I had to figure out Xmas for my two children, keep a roof over our head, food on the table, a vehicle for the sole employed one to get to work but now I have to worry about my minimum to US Bank going from $200/month to over $400/month. Low and behold I had to make adjustments somewhere to keep my house our of foreclosure, that extra $400 had to go and catch up the house. So yes US Bank you are a scam or shall I say Scum Scam. The American people are suffering enough with job loss and rising gas costs to feed into the incredibly greedy oil tycoons, but you have to add insult to injury, low self esteem, depression and just complete turmoil in a family life by calling all hours of the day, even when I request not to call after 8:30 due to my children being in bed. So what do you do call me EVERY NIGHT at 8:55, JERKS. And worse yet, I am not on the account my other one is so what do they do as for him, say not there which he is not and they hang up on me only to call back an hour later to do it all over again. PIA, that is all you are US Bank. And I really wish the other one did not get your Da*n card just for the Harley chrome cash, what a freakin waste. If it wasn't for that your card would never have been in my house as I have know your reputation for years. Oh BTW, I have two other smaller credit cards who did take compassion for our situation and my rates with them are 9.9 and 11.9 even today. So the crap of we have the right to raise the rate is correct, you have the right but do you have any morals?????

Aren't you missing the point? The cardholder is supposed to pay their bill by the due date for the minimum amount due. If the account is in collections, they are clearly not doing that. How is someone who defaults on their user agreement getting scammed? US Bank can contract with whoever they want. Real costs are associated with maintaining accounts, having to spend more time and money sending out past due notices, collection letters and then placing the account for collection. US Bank is incurring many additional expenses because the CARDHOLDER was in the wrong. None of this would be taking place is the bill was paid on time. I don't understand why everyone thinks banks are non profit organizations and don't have the right to make money like any other business. You're ridiculous. Even more so since you worked for the company and were getting paid by the company you think is so evil. Hypocrit.
