The CBR estimator arrived on time.  We discussed the project and, my expectations.  He stated a price, $500.00, I accepted it and we agreeded on a start date.

The techinician was on time, performed the refinishing process, and disappeared.  He failed to have me take the customary look at the finished product, for approval. He failed to remove 20% of the masking tape, not a big thing but a precurssor of things to come.

In addition to a new tub surface, the grout between the tub and the tile back-splash had to be removed and replaced.  The estimator said this was a routine part of the finishing process. The current repair grout was black.  It was not 'black mold'.  Workmen tried to remove the black with Clorox and scraping but the color was thru-out that part of the tub grout.

1.  After removing the tub/wall tile grout the technician replaced it with silicone caulk but, failed to remove the black 'wipes', made by the previous repair, extending 1/4 to 3/8 inch over the original white grout.  The visual effect was little black spike teeth sticking out of the silicone at the tub-wall tile caulk line.  I wanted that fixed.  CBR had the technician return. He spent about 15 minutes scraping and left. He did not clean up the scrapings, did not fix the problem, did not say good-by...  just disappeared again.  Ephan, my CBR telephone contact, said there would be charges if I wanted the job fginished.

2.  In addition, an older triangular acrylic tub-tile splash guard, attached with caulk was to be removed.  It would detract from the look of the newly refinished tub.  Adhesive was left on the tub and the globs of adhesive were painted over.

3.  Later, the floor was washed, part of the rental prep process.  All of the acrylic urethane at the tub/floor junction cracked and lifted off. The technician did not clean or remove the dirt packed in at this joint.  He taped the floor tile and painted over the exposed dirt. The dirt absorbed the water and, expanded... that cracked the paint and, it broke away.
