My husband and I made a committment a few years ago to become debt free. In order to help do this in a timely manner, we hired the services of this company. For some time things worked fine, and our balances were coming down. Then in 2008 they began sporadically paying late. I would always contact them and they would apologize, and give some excuse, usually blaming it on the accounting department.

Then in November, I began getting calls from my cards. I tried to contact CB and received no response. I held, one day for almost 2 hours and no rep ever came to the phone.I even googled the address and called some electric company next door to make sure someone was in the building. Being very proactive about my accounts, I began paying the cards any amount they would accept to try to keep them somewhat current. My inquiries continued into December.

One day while researching online, I found an oversight company for this org. Upon calling, I found I was not the only one with this problem. They have taken multiple payments from multiple customers without dispersing them to the credit card companies. To be specific, this company took $636 from my checking account. The oversight company gave me an extension number, and through this I was finaly able to find voicemails of associates. I left multiple messages and after about 4 days, received a call back. Again, it was the accounting department oversight, but I found they were out of business and had hired consultants from outside to pay the cards. Needless to say, I immediately cancelled the service and stopped any future deductions.

I then contacted another budget planning org, and was able to continue payments without losing my interest rates. This company has been much more accessible, even e-mailing my statements monthly. They even gave me an estimated date in which each card would be paid off.

Hopefully, my nightmare is over, but to date, my $636 has not been distributed to the creditors. If anyone knows who I could contact about this, I'm open to suggestions. They also owe me $300 as they continued to charge me a service fee even after I moved to a state in which this was unlawful.
