I was contacted by camco, by mail May of 2004, saying that i owed $1,800 from a discover credit card and they indicated that was previously owned by Fourscore Resource Capital;(I have never owned one!)as it says on the letter i sent them a letter (by certified letter with return receipt) stating that I was disputing the validity of the debt, well after that they stayed quiet.

all of the sudden I received a call on july 23 by Laurie Ham calling from camco sstating that i had a debt of $2,000 of a Visa card that was acquiered,(she gave me my Social Security Number) I asked if this was in reference to the letter that I received priorly, and she said yes; I informed her of what I stated on the certified letter, and she said I dont have anything; I also confronted her that the letter sated that it was a Discover Card, and not a Visa Card, and she said then is not the same, then

I asked to send me proof of the debt, with an account number and a date so that I can trace to the company. I hung up, and they did not call me again.

On july 27, they sent me a second letter same as the first one now stating a debt with ADVANTA with an account number and a balance of a debt of $2,495 I cant believe this guys; I am an honest person but this really chaps my hide! what can I do, Please give me some advice

thank you!

See my 7/30 response to Roberto re: Camco. I provided a list of addresses to which you can send copies of your "cease and desist" letter, along with a complete reckoning of all misdeeds performed by Camco (i.e. threats to "re-age" the debts, threats to sue, abusive and profane language, etc.). Since you are in New York, not Florida, you should skip the note to the NYAG and instead fill out this form. http://www.800helpfla.com/~cs/ccform.html Good luck!
