As far as I know, sCAMCO only had offices in Jamaica and Rockford IL. The Texas operation, Whitewing Financial, is another business entity that is/was related to sCAMCO. The Rockford office was closed by Federal authorities in December 2004. The files were seized and their portfolio sold off to RJM Acquisitions.

Was CAMCO's Texas Office shut down or all of the offices nationwide? If only Texas was shut down, that can explain why people are still receiving calls from across country.

I find it very interesting that the same name was used before with CAMCO. I even went back and double-checked copies of letters I had sent and it is indeed the same name. Maybe she got a new job!!!

I used to work for Camco in Rockford before they were forced to close by the FTC.Now I wasn't one of those employees who used scare tactics to get people to pay, I only worked there because they were paying good ,and I had to support my son,but anyhow,Camco was permantly shutdown on December 6th, 2004 by the FTC,the locks on the building they used were changed so they couldn't retrieve computers, and their assets were frozen. Now I heard from 2 different sources that a company called RJM Acquisitions is ran by the same people who owned Camco, and the company is headquarted in Atlanta,Georgia. Coincidently,Camco had an office in Atlanta,Georgia. RJM Acquisitions runs their company very similar to how Camco did,so I really believe this is the same company, you might want to look into it. One thing I would suggest is to send them a cease and desist letter, then they will stop calling, and make sure it is certified so you make sure they receive it. If they try and say that they never received it when in fact they did,you should consult an attorney for a lawsuit.

It sounds like you may be receiving calls from some other company using the same or similar acronym but it can't be from the one in Rockford IL because they are no longer in business. They sold their portfolio in January and I believe most, if not all of it, went to a company called RJM Acquisitions which appears to be almost as bad as CAMCO.

Okay, I had a voice mail today saying "This is Heather Miller from C.A.M., please call 877------" Heather Miller was the name used before from CAMCO. So you think this isn't CAMCO? I'm thinking of contacting the Attorney General in Illinois again and finding out what is going on. Did Heather Miller get a job with the company that bought the files from CAMCO? What's going on????

There are many other businesses that go by the name of camco. IT could be any one of them. Camco(the collection agency) is closed down. Their debts have been sold. Their officers and the company itself is being sued by the FTC. Their creditors have filed for involuntary bankruptcy against them. They have dozens of claimants against them. Their office is locked for good and will be sold. Camco(from this thread) is finished.

Well, my caller ID said CAMCO and the number began with 447 I believe (I'm not at home at the moment). I will look again later and get the exact phone number.

Are you positive it is them? Camco's debt were all sold off so it is possible another company is calling about that debt but unless some camco employee is doing illegal freelance work(and would face prison if caught) I cannot imagine it would be them. If you are positive then call the illegal attorney generals office to file a complaint.
