My advice - don't waste your money, stick with Ikea and don't try moving upmarket. What a huge disappointment! Purchased an expensive custom-order dining table and chairs at a local furniture store in Calgary (Bondar's). The table looked nothing at all like the showroom model, but the disclaimer ("oh but no two pieces of wood look alike") was issued when furniture was delivered, NOT when ordered. Bondar's customer service started out sounding very helpful, but as time when on, they were clearly not interested in taking a look at the table for themselves - "too bad, so sad, it's not our problem, it's the manufacturer". The manufacturer said "but it passed our quality inspection". The table top finish looked like something a home handyman might have accomplished in his/her garage. Avoid Bondar's and the manufacturer (Canadel) unless you're willing to gamble on what you get, because neither of them stand behind their product. Although this was not the most expensive line that Bondar's carries, it was a BIG purchase on my budget and I will have to pay for the refinishing myself. Somehow I had bought into a myth that higher end stores and manufacturers actually cared about customer satisfaction. Not sure where that delusion came from but I have learned my lesson the hard way. Had I seen this table in the showroom, I would not have given it a second glance except perhaps as a curiosity about what an odd way to finish a table top.
