Canadian Esoteric Society (Josef Analysis) Sending "payment reminders" for services I did not request! Threatening collection action. Buffalo New York
I received two letters from "The Canadian Esoteric Society" about an "Analysis that Josef did for me", stating that I was offered a special price of only $19 and that I agreed to pay this price. And that since I failed to pay, I have incurred a late payment fee. They have invoiced me on behalf of "Josef". The bright pink letter has a P.O. Box address for Buffalo, NY in very small letters above my name and address. The pre-addressed envelope has an address in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada on it.
Then, I was "Strongly advised to make this payment immediately. If I failed to pay the amount of (now) $21.70, they will pass my delinquent account to a collection agency". I have received two letters, and ignored both of them.
I never requested whatever service "Josef" offers. I usually throw letters like this in the garbage. But this is a new method being used by these scammers and I want to inform the general public about it. I hate these annoying people and wish someone would find them and lock them away for ripping off unsuspecting people! I never sent them any money, nor answered any of their mailings. However, when people receive a letter threatening "collection agency action", they may send them money out of fear. It is a very obvious scam: There is no physical address, there are two different P.O. Box addresses (one in the US and one for Canada), and there are no names except for "Josef" anywhere on the letter. Plus, there never was an "analysis" from Josef. Please do not send these extortionist any money - it is a definite scam!
