Capital First credit card ripoff, deceptive company false promises tricked and lied to us Dallas, Texas
I recieved a phone call from a unknown phone number via my cell phone. It was a pleasant sounding and professional man telling me I had been approved for a mastercard and other benefits. I believed him, since i had been looking a credit card applications online.
He knew all the information i had posted on these supposedly secure online applications (maiden name, bank account balances) so i had no problem with the questions he asked me, including information about my banking and account numbers. Although wary, I have him this information so he could charge me a one time processing fee of 19.95 and verify that i had a checking account.
He then directed me through an automated "verification process" in which i basically agreed to let them have 19.95 out of my account. He then went on to tell me about all these benefits. After he recieved all my info, he thanked me, gave me a customer service number and hung up....not telling me when to expect my wonderful card in the mail.
The customer service number is bogus...it directs you to some answering service who doesnt even know who they are answering for and tell you that "the company" is experiencing high call volume...would you leave your name and number? I have left my name and number for the last 4 days with no response. The money has yet to come out of my account but i have withdrawn all my funds except the $20 to cover their cost and then I am starting a new account.
I am sure i will never see the wonderful mastercard and benefits they spoke of....i just hope they dont make any illegal and expensive debits to my bank account before I close it!
