You're right about the child support. If the child support has been regularly deposited into the account each month, say by EFT, you should be able to take the matter up with your bank. Your bank cannot legally freeze child support monies but you have to have some way to prove how much monies are the child support - they are not gonna take your word for it. About credit reporting - take that up with the folks who you OWED the money to - they're the ones who report to the credit bureaus. Laywers are normally used to go to court to get the money judgement, and to petition the court for enforcement (take if from your bank) but they seldom report a paid debt to the credit bureaus - the creditor is responsible to make sure the bureaus are notified.
