When Spiegel declared bankruptcy, I called the company and asked for a complete payoff balance to close the account officially. I sent a check in late April for the total amount. Two months later, I receive a bill from Card Processing Center located in Old Bethpage, NY. I was told I was late on a $25 dollar amount and owed another $35. I could not call, since they did not list a telephone number. I sent a dispute letter as directed on the back of the bill and did not hear from them until August. They continued to tack on late fees. Finally, I get a telephone number listed on a bill.
I am now up to $168 on a bill that I NEVER owed anything.
I was treated rudely, they harass me five times a day and I have had no response from THREE letters. I finally contacted my DA and was sent to the website of the Office of the Comptroller of Currency. I recently faxed copies of my complaint letters, a current bill from the Card Processing Center and the ripoff reports.
I have informed Card Processing that I am about to file a class action lawsuit and if any of you would like to do this, please respond and let me know!
