On January 17, 2018, I ordered a vehicle service history report of my personal vehicle from Carfax. The reason for my vehicle service history order was due to the fact that I was planning to sell my vehicle and was intending to use the report as a selling tool. And in order to provide potential buyers a verification of my vehicle’s service history. However, the report didn't contain any of my vehicle’s service history.
I emailed Carfax and requested a full refund and Samantha from Carfax consumer affairs responded stating that they don't guarantee the information provided on their vehicle service history reports. And denied my full refund request. So basically consumers pay Carfax and pray for the best. In which is an unethical and unlawful business practice. Also, this is not the first time that Carfax has failed to provide me with an accurate vehicle service history. I do believe in giving companies a second and third change to gain my business. However, enough is enough.
MESSAGE FROM CARFAX:
Not all service facilities participate in CARFAX's free service record program. If service records are missing from the CARFAX Report, it means the facility the customer is taking the vehicle to does not provide CARFAX with their service data.
If the customer would like the services performed on their vehicle to display on the CARFAX Report, they should take the vehicle to a service facility that contracts with CARFAX.
