 Purchased 2008 Volvo from CarMax for $ 27,000.00 right from the start it has been in the shop time after time. They could not of really done a 27 point inspection as they stated. From the start I had break and alignment issues, control panel issues-engine light will not go off-; air conditioner blowing hot on driver-cold on passenger-seats; seats spray painted to look like new leather seats only to find paint coming off on your clothes for next several months-car been in shop 90 days so far-have picked up the repaired car 7 times only to find it is not repaired and given it right back-5 loaner cars later and 2 rental cars later car still not fixed-they make no apologies and will not tell me the General Managers name-They told me if I hire an atty they will not work on my car any longer.

 Still another issue....now the convertible top will not go up or down all the top. Half the time it will work and the other times it will not. It takes me many tries to get it up all the way. It is motorized.....each time I bring it to CarMax they will tell me it works just fine....when I leave and go back to home it will not work. I have to film this now or they will not fix it. I brought it to them 3 times and it worked on their lot yet it will not work at my home..if it is unpredictible then to me it does not work. There is a programming issue. It is not reliable. I am afraid it will end up half opened and half closed mid air and I will not even be able to drive it there....

Sorry to hear of your problems, i bought a car form Carmax in Houston in 8-2013. I thought about trading it in this year they offered me $8000.00 trade but i still owe $14,000 including the warrenty. My car is a 03 325i with 68k and runs excellent no thanks to Carmax service dept i only take it to BMW Dealerships and it is repaired correctly the first time. Anyway i was looking at a 06 325i with 70k asking price was $17,000 the salesman told me that it was a great price for a bimmer i don't think so i found one at the BMW Dealer same year and model with 69k for $12,000. After test driving the car i noticed it had all of the same issues that my 325i had when i bought it RED FLAG.

The other thing is Carmax would not finance me which to me is wrong because All of my payments are made one week in advance and another thing everytime i go into to make a payment it seems that there is Always an Angry customer there waiting to pick up their new car from the service dept that they just bought.

  When you car buy a used car at CarMax they do not inspect the vehicle, they buy from auctions that are flooded, damaged cars...they do not do an inspection before they put the car out on the lot like they say they do--when you buy the car and drive it one week you have to bring it in for repair work--the warranty company that you purchase on the vehicle will fight you tooth and nail to pay for what they are supposed to pay for. I paid 3500.00 for the warranty and got a pamplet of what all is covered. They fought me so long on each thing they were supposed to pay for that CarMax ended up keeping my vehicle for 4 months....they fought all new engine parts needed that needed replacing, they fought to pay for all mechancal issues regarding my convertible top--they take so long to approve something you end up paying for a rental car forever and pay double toll fees forever until they will finally pay. They will not pay for what they are obligated to pay for until you fight and fight them- They have had my car one full season and 4 car payments later finally the warranty company is paying for what they were supposed to pay for in the first place-by the way they will only pay for 7 days of a rental car while your car is in the shop---what the biggest issue is that you must get a warranty on all CarMax cars because it breaks down right when you drive it off the lot --they say they do a 127 point inspection-this is what I have replaced crank case vent, fuel pressure sensor, intake hose, new pumps for the windshield washer so it will work, control panel labor because the air conditioner was blowing cold on driver and hot on passenger, new antenea because it blew off car and the radio would not work-----car max also spray painted my seats to look like brand new leather seats--paint comes off on clothes for next few months--when you bring it back to file fraud charges on them ---all they do is spray paint the seats again rather than replacing the seats.....to actual new leather seats--purchased the car for 26k yet value is 14k
