I purchased a cruise for my family of four. We were to see ports Cozumel,Isla Roatan,Grand Cayman, and Belize. Cozumel was canceled do to Swine Flu. That I understand. Carnival did not substitute another port for this cruise but did for other shorter cruises, instead we now have another day at sea.

When I called carnival they said they couldn't substitute ports, there were to many people to switch ports. I find out now that the shorter cruises did change ports but not the 7 day cruise I purchased.

They have given an 20.00 per person on board credit in lieu of the port of Cozumel. I have paid Carnival Almost 3000.00 dollars for our cruise and they think a 20.00 credit is going to make up the change, on top of which I have to spend it on board. They get the money right back.

Carnival and everyone in the world knows they make the most money when people stay on board and buy drinks, gifts, gamble, etc. hence another day at sea so they make more money.

I payed for four ports, and if they can't give me four ports, they should give me my money back, I could have gone on a cruise with three ports and 5 days for a lot less money. I'm extremely disappointed with carnival,as I'm sure a lot of other people are. They offer to let you go at a different time, but there cruise schedule is not again until the fall. My daughter will be in college, that is why we were planning June 14.They have handled the situation terribly.

Due to Swine Flu, every cruise line stopped cruising to Mexico. You mentioned that your ship is visiting Grand Cayman and Belize, which are the closest ports to Cozumel. Where else do you expect the ship to go? The only other choices in that area are Costa Maya and maybe Jamaica, both of which have very limited dock space and likely are already full from the other 20+ cruise ships sailing that area. Before you go blaiming the cruise line for missing one port, you really need to look at the bigger picture. It is most likely that your ship could not go to another port on that particular day.
