Finally got my money back. Just FYI, I was charged $29.95 cancellation fee which I did not agree with. I was working with my credit company to claim my money. Trust me, it was worth it!

I also was naive to the whole telemarketing phone call and gave them my credit card number. There is still hope. After realizing my mistake, I investigated a lot online about the company, visited the BBB website that gave a little information about the cruise, and looked up consumer laws. It is believed that the cruise line is actually NOT new, but a renovated one of Imperial Majesty (They denied this over the phone). I brought up the issue of the Florida State law which states that you can cancel deals within 3 days of purchase (PLEASE note they say this only applies to those living in florida. Therefore, please look up your own state laws regarding consumer purchases before you call them). I brought up swine flu in Mexico etc. etc. Finally, I was able to them by saying I really cannot afford the overall excess cost of the trip (oil fees, flights to and fro fl, repaying the credit voucher) etc. The main thing you have to do is first-and-foremost file a complaint with your credit card company. Next, investigate the cruise. Be honest with them why you want your money back (you don't want it, can't afford it, were mislead into agreeing to it etc). Be patient and try to remain calm b/c they put you on hold a LOT. Do not hang up keep on the line (I had to talk to 3 different people). Be firm with your comments and don't be swayed with their babbling--cut them off if you have to and say "the MAIN thing is I just don't want to go on your cruise, I want to cancel my reservation and want my money back." They will try to bargain down the price (they took 300 off mine) or say "this is a good trip etc" Don't be swayed and keep saying you want your refund. Bring in state laws, etc. etc. IT IS POSSIBLE. best of luck.
