I have received 6 calls from this company from a Mathew Silva and Jeff Stewart( both had very thick accents and were hard to understand) demanding that I call back immediately or I would be arrested. I did call back to Silva and was told I had 30 minutes to fax a letter with my credit card or debit card to pay off a debt to cash net for a loan I took out in 2008. Stated the loan was for $300 and I now owed $1098. When I said I was not aware of any loan I was told by Mr Silva that I would be taken to the court and arrested. I asked why I had not been notified berore now but he could not give me any answer. I told him I was not near a fax machine and I needed more time to do this. He said OK I will give you 40 minutes. He called back and extended the time and lowered the amount to $708. I said there was no way I could do this on a Friday night. He said then you have until 10 AM tomorrow or I will have to download this and you will be taken to court on Monday. When I asked what court he would not say. When I asked him who he represented he said the lawyer for cashnet but would not give me a name. I called the police to see if there was a warrent out for me but they said that money owed was a civil matter but did check for me anyway. The said this was a hoax.

The next morning he called again after I did not return his call and said I would be sorry he had tried to help me but I wasn't caring. I told him to stop harrassing me and that he could not threaten me. His answer was to say don't tell me the law I have worked for 25 years for this firm. I asked what firm and he finally told me Cashnet Monitary Crimes Division. Los Angelas, Ca. I told him to stop calling.

He called again on Monday. Then this morning a Jeff Stewart called my work number and started the same senario again. We returned the call and could not understand this man and asked to speak to the lawyer. We were supposedly transferred to a lawyer but it was the same person. He was told to stop these calls and that we were reporting this to the police. He hung up on us. Please take heed. Do not fall for this scam.

And yet you are still talking to them??? OF COURSE ITS SCAM - THERE IS NO MONETARY CRIMES DIVISION go to ABCNEWS website and search on FAKE DEBT COLLECTORS! call the police again and file fraud charges and contact the FBI and do the same. WHEN THEY CALL AGAIN - TELL YOU HAVE FILED LOCAL AND FEDERAL FRAUD CHARGES AGAINST THEM - THE CALLS WILL STOP.. Otherwise they will keep calling because they think you will send them money also - read the thousands of other complaints on the internet about this scam.
