Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On August 2, 2001, we purchased a sofa and chair from Castro convertibles in Orange, CT. We did NOT know that Castro was in financial trouble, nor were we told by our salesman. (not that we would have expected him to tell us). We were told that it would take 8 to 10 weeks for our furniture to arrive. Since we have never purchased furniture that needed to be ordered before, we accepted this as the "norm".

On September 20,2001, I called the store, just to check the status of my order. I was told that my FABRIC was due in on September 30,2001 and that it would be another 6 to 8 weeks after that. Again, we accpeted this as "normal".

On October 2,2001, I again called, thinking that my fabric would have come in, and maybe just maybe my furniture would be delivered for a large family gathering on Thanksgiving in our new home! I asked to speak to the salesman who had handled our order, and was told that he no longer worked there! I then said, well can someone tell me what the status of my order is? The dead silence that followed was freightening! I was told that my furniture would NEVER be delivered, as Castro had gone out of business!

We put down a $1000.00 CASH deposit, and have NEVER been notified by the bankruptcy courts that Castro no longer exists! It was just a fluke that I had called. The person that answered the phone that day was nice enough to look up my account on their computer, and told me that the expected delivery date of my FABRIC had been changed to October 30, 2001!!!

I'll bet that the owner/CEO of Krause-Castro will be sitting on his sofa for Thanksgiving!

Thanks for nothing, Castro!
