American Coradius - Cavalry Portfolio Services ripoff Attempting to defraud for non-existant debt with threats and rude, unprofessional behavior. Phoenix Arizona, Williamsville, New York
Recieved a threatening letter from American Coradius and Cavalry Portfolio Services LLC attempting to collect a non-existant debt. They used the typical "feeler letter" to get us to call so they know they have the person they are interested in.
This is a 2-edged sword because if you do not call, they "assume" the debt is valid and therefore have the only paperwork they need to proceed. And if you DO call, they pump the nervous and unwary for information and use scare tactics. This is because they have no information because it does not exist. Do NOT give them any info. It is THEY who owe info to YOU.
They cannot collect for non-existant debt, however it is a nasty business to deal with these ruthless unscrupulous people and can leave an undeserved mark on your credit if you do not fight back with all your resources.
We have contacted them a American Coradius and talked to a Don Harris who was very rude and abrupt, and could not answer any questions about the account though we led him to believe we were interested in clearing this matter up. He then proceeded to hang the phone up in our ear in the middle of a statement saying that we will be hearing from him.
All I can say is that from what these people are like and what they are attempting to do, I would advise anyone NOT to give them any information, nor even answer their letter. If your debt is ficticious as ours is, they must spend money to pursue it and in the end they will walk away with empty pockets.
There should be a Federal Investigation into these people and class action taken for wrongful prosecution and fraudulent business practices.
