I drove a truck for close 40 years, have owned trucks, and have logged close to 4 million miles over the road, Started back in the day when Truck Drivers were known as the white Knights of the highway, recently I took some time off from the highway ,due to my elderly mother had became ill, well she ended up passing on to her heavenly home, needlessly to say this hit me harder than I would of Ever thought, I had lost the one person who had always been there for me, and now she was gone, I was really having a difficult time with the loss of my Mother, so I took some time to get my head together, in the mean time my physical came due, well at the time, I was dealing with these personal problems, so i willingly turned in my cdl for the time being, huge mistake, didn't realize at the time the problems by doing this I had just brought upon myself,

I've now been a year trying to get my CDL BACK, passed all written test just fine no problem, passed my physical no problem, but have taken the Skills test 4 times , over pure nonsense, like for example, I mentioned checking the saftey tape down the side of the trailer but didn't mention it on the rear of the trailer, I said checking my radiator and all hoses instead of checking the top hose and then checking the bottom hose, we have always done pre-trip inspections as well as post trip inspections, if it was leaking we fixed it, if it was broke we replaced it, there's a 107 different things you have to memorize in order to pass this test, and I just don't understand how memorizing all these parts make you a safer driver behind the wheel, but mentioned one thing different than what they want to hear and you just lost 175.00 , its a money pit,

they can find fault in anything and you lose 175.00 , these test sites are making millions off of this....and there is not anything you can do about it, I know a guy that has drove 52 yrs and has never had a accident, he had a heart cath done, he was told he had to get a recertification , this young guy who tested him told him he had to be 1 to 4 ft when making a turn , he asked the tester ,did I hit any curbs, tear up any tires, bump anything at all, tester said no sir, well then whats the problem, they failed him he came home and sold his truck, this is a Disgrace, sure the trucking industry is getting these young minds who can memorize all this stuff, but they are running over people, crashing into the ditches, can't back into a dock, but thats all ok, because big business is getting rich off it.. such a shame...
