Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
As a COSTCO member, I decided to try their auto buying service to buy a new Toyota. They informed me that the participating dealer in my area is Central Florida Toyota, and gave me the names of the contacts there who would provide me with the "COSTCO price". I contacted the dealership, and the first thing the salesperson (Steven) told me was, "I can do even better than the COSTCO price." !!?!! (so what good is the COSTCO program?!!).

The dealership is quite a way from where I live, so I told him that, while the price he quoted sounded good (I'd been pricing the vehicle at local dealerships), the deal-maker or deal-breaker would be what they would give me for my trade. I was trading in a 2004 Toyota Tundra with only 24,000 miles, and nearly a year left on the original, bumper-to-bumper warranty. He assured me that they would give me top dollar, so my wife and I drove all the way down. As is usual, we were kept waiting for some time while they "appraised" my trade, and finally, another employee - an older man - came in to talk with us. He told me that my truck had been in an accident, and that they could, therefore, not offer me more than $4,000 for it (about 1/3 the value, according to every index). It's true that I was in a 'fender-bender' right after buying the truck, but the damage was minor, and was completely fixed. There was no damage to the engine or the frame, and the airbag didn't even deploy, as it was a minor accident. We were stunned, and left the dealership.

Other dealers, including Toyota dealers, routinely offered at least twice that amount. Central Florida Toyota only wanted to lure us into the dealership to rip us off. I have complained to COSTCO, and am very glad we didn't do business with this dealership. I ended up buying a Nissan - got a good price on the vehicle, and a fair price on my trade. No more Toyotas for me.

Toyota is a crappy overated and overpriced vehicle. Unfortuantely, I experienced it first hand. I had a 2003 Camry LE V6, I can't remember what I paid for it. If you want an overpriced vehicle with a weak V6, sloppy, soft handling and feather light steering, the Camry is for you. If you would like a powerful 3.5 V6 with tight handling, look into the Maxima. I rent quite a few cars as well, and the Altima with a 4 cyl kicks the crap out of the Camry's overpriced V6. So, go Nissan, it's a better car

Simply put a small display ad in your Newspaper that says: GO TO: ripoffreport.com and type in TOYOTA This small ad WILL be devastating to that Dealership!! Remember what they did to you? Now it's your turn to 'harness the TRUTH' and EXPOSE them. Just do it!! 'The truth will set you free!'

How in the world can you blame costco's auto buying program. Sorry but thats just ludicris that you can even mention costco's name. Your a John Q Consumer, you should know better when walking onto any property lines with swindling car salesmen (sorry if your a car salesperson, but you know half of the folks you work with are dishonest). As a consumer you have to use your brain - open your eyes, see things, use passed experience to judge the situation, figure out for yourself if you need more information to make a valid and educated decision. Get online, go check things out, find out facts, and go from there. You cannot even mention costco or complain to costco about the dealership. The service that you were provided sounds like it was pretty decent if you ask me, they offered you a better price than was agreed upon by costco and the dealership. Atleast thats how you see it... I baught a 2006 Dodge Charger RT fully loaded, sun roof, intergrated gps dvd cellular, the whole package... 42.5 was the sticker.. "invoice" according to the dealership was 35, I paid 28! What does that say about costco's auto program? NOTHING, It was a car dealership you wheel and deal! If your paying a price thats printed on any sticker or sheet of paper, you deserve to be dis-satisfied for being a bad consumer. get a grip on how to be a consumer!

Dear Retired Navy, Get your story to the Media ASAP! And place a small, inexpensive display ad in your Local Newspaper that says: GO TO: ripoffreport.com and type in TOYOTA! This simple ad will EXPOSE the Dealership AND Toyota Corporation AND alert others of the Deceptive Business Practices that are taking place every day at Toyota Dealerships! That simple display ad WILL cost the Dealership THOUSANDS in lost sales and could possibly create Class Action Law Suits against them and Toyota Corporation. Enjoy your New NISSAN and let the CEO of Toyota know. Good luck!!

Why would you get rid of a 2004 Toyota Tundra with only 24,000 miles on it?

Trading in a used vehicle on a new(er) vehicle is a recipe for getting taken. 24,000 miles represents less than two years of use! So you had a 4 year old (now) truck with less that two years of use..... A former colleague once offered me his very nice Toyota Van for $300. I was busy at that time and I was a bit too slow to respond so he traded it in for $300 against a Nissan sports car... a 350 something or other. He suggested I call the dealer, and when I did call the dealer the dealer's quoted price was $3000. But my colleague was happy, and I did not get my knickers in a twist over it.
