According to localmovingsupplies.com, Central Pack will call the customer to notify them of shipping charges. If the customer does not want to pay the charges, the order is not processed.

However, this was not the case for my wife & I. She placed an order on line on 9/18/06 and was never called. The following day, my wife called customer service and cancelled the order. The cancelled shipment arrived late on 9/20/06 and we were charged more than we wanted to pay for shipping.

I was also shopping online for moving supplies. I entered an order on 9/20/06 and was never called back. Once my wife's shipment arrived, I quickly called back (less than an hour of placing my order), complained about my wife's order and cancelled mine. We agreed to pay for my wife's order if Central Pack would reduce the shipping cost, which they did. I was assured my order had been cancelled before it was processed.

However, on 10/2/06, I was billed $386.00 for my order even though I received no goods. My wife was also billed $244.14 on 10/6/06 for no apparent reason. This amount differed from her previous order, which had already been charged.

After calling customer service and speaking several times to Philip, the charges were finally refunded to our respective cards. However, I had to make several requests, and the amounts were partially credited over the following month.

My $386 charge was credited $100 on 10/20, $142 on 11/1, and $144 on 11/6. My wife's $244.14 was credited $100 on 10/20, $100.14 on 10/23, and $44 on 10/25. Each credit prior to full repayment required a follow up phone call.

If I spoke to anyone but Philip, I was told there was nothing they could do, and that I would have to call back during a one and a half-hour window to speak to accounting.

Central Pack's false advertising online and their fraudulent application of credit card charges make them dangerous for people who have too much on their mind already when they are moving.
