A local representative for this company came into my small business pitching better payment services with a lower charge rate when compared to Square. We decide to give them a try and I have never regretted anything more. The equipment was difficult for my partner to use and sometimes the equipment wouldn’t work for all cards. The app would constantly close and I would have to call the CPAY hotline for trouble shooting issues because we couldn’t get back into the app with out an administrator password and the people on CPAY’s hotline could barely help. I check the numbers for our store on a month to month basis and after calculating about 4 months it revealed that every month we had used CPAY their fees were far more than Square would have been. This was due to all the hidden fees I was not told about. Gateway fees, statement fees, location fees, etc, etc. At this point I called the local representative who stated he would come and look at the numbers and possibly make adjustments so our rate would be better. Not only did he not show up for the scheduled appointment he didn’t even bother calling to excuse himself or set another appointment.

I called several more times and he called the store stating he would come in to talk to me and STILL never showed up. So I called him again saying we just wanted to cancel the services and HE STILL DIDN’T SHOW UP. My time is valuable as a small business owner and not even being contacted after so many missed appointments is just unacceptable. At this point I contacted the CPAY hotline directly to cancel through them. When I did so and the customer service rep asked about my reason for cancelling I told her it was because they came out to be more expensive than Square. At which point she stated “Yes, I know that”. WHAT A SLAP TO THE FACE! Well if they know that, why was the local reps main pitch to me about being less expensive than Square? So dishonest….

To top it all off when I told her I wanted to cancel she told me I would have to write a letter to the company and scan it to them and my services still wouldn’t be cancelled for 30 days. During that 30 days I would still be charged all fees even if we aren’t using it anymore. That to me is the definition of a TOTALLY dishonest RIP OFF. I hate this company and not only will I NEVER recommend this company to other business owners I will tell them to STAY AWAY from this company. If anyone I know is already using this company I will tell them to check their numbers because they are most likely getting ripped off. I OWN a business and I expect businesses to operate with honesty and respect which are things I DID NOT get from CPAY.
