Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee Willie Ratchford, Executive Director, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committe has dedicated itself to protect landlords who discriminate against senior citizens with disabilities. Charlotte, North Carolina
Phyllis Range attempted to evict me without cause because I requested that the repairs that the City of Charlotte Housing Code Enforcement documented as violations be performed. Her actions were the grounds for me to file a HUD FairHousing Complaint indicating that the landlord endeavored to evict me as a result of retaliation and discrimination due to my disabilities.
HUD delegated the complaint to Mr. Willie Ratchford, Executive Director of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee. I forwarded emails that I had sent Mrs. Range requesting that the repairs be completed in a timely manner, eviction notices and dates, court findings, and proof of retaliation eviction and discrimination.
Unfortunately, Mr. Ratchford chose to ignore HUD's request to investigate the complaint for violations of "Sections 804a and 818 of Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 AS AMENDED BY THE Fair Housing Act of l988." Instead on October 24, 2012, ( my sixty-third birthday) the executive director sent me this "The results of this investigation did not produce sufficient evidence to find that a violation of the CHARLOTTE FAIR HOUSING ORDINANCE occurred. Therefore, I have closed the complaint.
Mrs. Range is employed with Wells Fargo; Mr. Ratchford chose to allow Corporate America to supersede over the rights of a senior citizen with disabilities.
