Charterstone Financial Group Said I was approved for $5000 needed to send $770 for collateral and then wanted more money, found out later they were a scam Englewood Cliffs New Jersey
I searched for someone who would give me a student loan with bad credit because I am currently in school and I have 2 kids and a famil to support and I needed more money. I also needed a car of my own because right now me and my husband share his car. I found one and I applied and they called me and said I was approved by a private lender but it wouldn't be a student loan it would be a private secured loan. They said all I had to do was pay the first 8 months of payments which was $770. I sent them the money through moneygram to some woman in canada. Then they called me today and said they needed another $770 based on my credit. I said I didn't have enough because it was all I could do to come up with the first amount. They said ok we can send you a refund but you will not recieve it until November 7th. I need that money to pay my rent so my family doesn't loose our home. They didn't care and my husband got mad and kept calling them and they kept hanging up on him.
Then, I called my dad who used to work for a lending company and he told me it sounded real fishy and that it is illegal to ask for money up front before you get your money they are promising you. My dad looked it up on the internet and there were many other people who did the same thing as me and even some of them sent the second amount of money they asked for and others just asked for a refund but they have not recieved one yet and the company just keeps blowing them off. I can't believe there are people out there like this that steal from hardworking people who don't even have this kind of money in the first place. Luckily we have great family who has agreed to help us with this money situation but I still want my money back and I am so upset these people did this to me and to other people. I hope someone somewhere can do something about these people and get everyone their money back who they have stolen from.
