Due to the encredibly terrible customer service at Chase banks we opened an account at a different bank. We filled out forms at the new bank to have the money in our money market account at Chase tranferred directly to our new account. Two weeks had gone by and no deposit into our new account! I called Chase customer service and they said the branch office would have to call me, so they sent the information to the branch where we opened the account. The manager called me and said it would take at least seven to 10 working days. So we waited and waited, no deposit. I called again and they said I should give it a few more days, and the funds would be sent directly to me, not the new bank.

To make a long story short, it has now been 3 weeks since money was withdrawn from our account, and I can't even find out from them if a check was sent, and if it was sent, when was it sent. All I get is it has been sent to the research department, I call the research department, and they tell me the issues has been sent to the national reasearch department. Of course they won't let me talk to them. So here I am, three weeks later and no clue if the check was mailed, and if mailed lost or stolen. Maybe embezelement is involved for all I know. I would feel safer keeping money under my mattress.

Finally received a check from Chase. Only took them about three and a half weeks from the time our money was withdrawn from our account until the real check showed up. No explanation as to why it took so long, or why no one was really intersted in a missing check. I'm pretty sure if we owed Chase and didn't pay up for over three weeks they would be adding a late charge, interest or some fee just to get a few more bucks out of average joe. Good bye, good ridance to chase bank. Never have we dealt with such a bunch of incompetence as those at Chase.

On Tuesday I received a call from the Chase branch in Ft Myers Florida. "The check is in the mail" they say! Also received a call later in the evening from the "research department" letting me know a check is in the mail. Guess I will find out in 3 to 5 days if it really is in the mail this time. I never could find out if the first check they said they mailed ever existed. All seems to be a big secret.
