Could you please mention the fact we'd sent you a FREE MOVING KIT, worth a value of $200.00-and that just 2 days AFTER receiving it you cancelled-and IGNORED our policy of you needing to cancel within 10 days prior FOR RECEIVING THE FREE MOVING KIT-AND NOT RETURNING IT.You kept the boxes, tape, markers, bubble wrap and tried to the obvious-which is :
1) shcedule move
2) accept the $200 Moving Kit,
3) cancel the order, KEEP the moving kit.
You were explained and shown in writing (to which you ELECTRONICALLY SIGNED and agreed to)-that if you keep the kit-and cancel with less than 10 days prior to the move date-thatthe deposit is non-refundable.Don't you realize you are NOT the first person to attempt to STEAL a moving kit from us?
AND FOR whomever said the RIDICULOUS notion that companies DON'T require deposits-well, obviously you work for another moving company.I've been in the indsutry for over 20 years, and most companies(THE MAJORS) require deposits.
So either you work for another mover-or your some bored and jilted individual. Your post is just silly and seems like you're attempting to take advantage of this false complaint and make your business look better.
People, its okay to complaint-just don't lie and DON'T Omit the details.
Because what THIS customer did was steal.Or at least, attempt to steal.
We have your electronic signature, and we hope you enjoyed your pilfered box kit.

If so, you may be able to use this document to dispute the charge with your credit card company. I would also read over your agreement because it needs to be crystal clear in the moving contract as to when a 100% refund is allowed. I mean it sounds like you should be able to get a refund once the credit card company, but without information as to HOW the cancellation was communicated, it is hard to say. On the other hand, the other commentor was correct - they would have done a lot more damage to your stuff than $400 - of that I'm certain of.

The first sign you were in trouble was that Chase required you to pay a deposit. No reputable moving company will ask for a deposit. I think that may even be illegal but I'm not sure. Normally you pay upon delivery of your household goods. Because they asked for a deposit makes me think you may have never seen your items again. You will most likely not get your deposit back but at least you still have your items.
