Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

As most of my clients know, I have not worked at Chez LeDuc Salon since late June; yet the owner of this business, Charles "Mick" Brady, continues to use pictures of my work while passing it off as their own.

Yes, that's copyright infringement.

On June 18th, as my last act as manager of this business, I manually removed these photos from the salon's website (which I created and built myself). The reason for this action was because I had spent approximately 25-30 hours building the website at home, in my own time, as was never compensated for it. Yet, pictures of my work have been put back on the salon website- with all credits removed.

Many of the pictures in question, which feature hair and makeup on several different models, were taken from photoshoots that took place before this salon was even opened. Proof of this can be seen by visiting my online portfolio at modelmayhem.com/hairforhire. Since the dates of these photos precede the beginning of my employment at this salon, it is evident that they are trying to pass off my work as their own.

So don't be fooled. When you view the salon's photo gallery and see pictures of "our work", what you are really seeing is pictures of my work, which represents years of professional collaboration and partnerships with photographers and models. Yes, there are a few (2 or 3) pictures on their site of work performed by other stylists, but even these pictures are from stylists who no longer work at Chez LeDuc.

This is theft of intellectual property and copyright infringement in its purest form, and like all thieves, the owner of this business belongs behind bars. It's a lot like McDonald's airing a commercial of a Whopper and trying to pass it off as its own. Mr. Brady cannot claim ignorance in this matter (although ignorance is an attribute at which he excels), as I have verbally informed him never to use my photographs.

Nice try.

Nice try. In addition to being found in violation of copyright infringement, you can now add identity theft to your long resume of misdeeds and unlawful behavior :)

This so-called complaint against me in this site was not posted by a real client, but by Chez LeDuc posing as an unhappy client in a childish attempt at retaliation (and once again stealing content posted elsewhere in the process. Some people never learn.)

How do I know this? Well, unbeknownst to Mr. Brady, I have been in contact with Melanie White (the client who had originally posted the above-mentioned complaint on Yelp in April) for several weeks.

Yesterday I asked her about this "The Truth About Marlin" post. I've included a photo of her reply.

As anyone reading this thread can see for themselves, the owner of Chez LeDuc is an unscrupulous, first-class, Grade A, All-American sleazebag who prefers to lie, cheat, swindle and steal than to accept responsibility for his unconscionable actions.

I need not say more, as Mr. Brady's actions clearly and unequivicolly demonstate his guilt, as well as his true character (or total lack thereof).

But nice try, bro ;)

Perhaps the owner's just mad because the company hosting his website agreed with my claim that he was using somebody else's pictures to promote his business illegally. Since my initial complaint, Mr. Brady has been served with a DMCA Takedown Notice and has been forced to remove the infringed material from his site at the risk of having his website taken offline:

Hi there Marlin,

Adam at Bandzoogle here, just following up with you. We contacted the owner of the chezleduc.com site for you and notified them of the DMCA takedown notice you filed regarding the photos. In situations like this, we request they remove the content within 24 hours from the page - if they don't comply, we shut down the site.

This member complied quickly to this request to take the debated content down, and the photos are now no longer displaying on the page here:

Sounds like an admission of guilt to me.

I still never received the instructions/care packet for extensions. I have asked many times. The lack of communication is awful. The customer is also to come first! I never once felt that way!

Now, today we walk in and pay the balance. Very CALMLY bob asked Marlin what is the process for extensions and  why so much. We knew Marlin had a customer in the chair so we kept it low-key. Marlin started to explain. Then became very agitated and unprofessional! He started swearing! Then making excuses. I'm in shock! I never expected that from your salon! Ethics went right out the window today I guess! He kept swearing with a customer in the chair! Yelling at us to never come back and get the hell out. All we did was ask why! This is the most absurd behavior I have ever witnessed by a "professional" hair stylist!

Then he says I have been nothing but trouble from day one!! Can you please tell me how I treated any of you in a poor fashion?? Never! Joked with you all and was VERY patient considering all the screw-ups! Even if I was a trouble making customer like he claimed you don't talk like that to the customer or in front of other customers!!

I was going to put a good review about Marlin but that's not going to happen now. He told us to shut up and not ask questions and to take it up with the better business bureau and sue. I wasn't planning on suing! I just wanted a question answered for my boyfriend so he understood! Its not like it was a $50 hairstyle!

I'm in the public's eye a lot and just wanted it done right. Is that too much to ask?? You job is to make women and men feel better about their hair! Not send them away crying because of incompetent stylist!

I'm very upset. And if this happened to you or someone treated your daughter this way you would be too!

You all should be ashamed! I have had some horrible customers and never once would I speak to them like that! Never! Total lack of class and professionalism!

You paint a pretty picture on your website and took a lot time to have a beautiful salon but now you need to take the time to invest in better skilled stylist who have better work ethics and manners.

I'm extremely upset and am still deciding how we want to handle this. I have contacted several other upscale salons and spoke to them. I'm also contacting past customers of yours. I would like to hear some of their experiences. I know this isn't the first time Marlin has done this. That seemed to be second nature to him.

Marlin also said he would sue us if we post pics of my hair. Its MY HAIR! I will post any pics of my hair that I want. If you're so proud of your work then you won't mind me showing Jaselles work right? So I don't see why you would sue me if I show the work she has done and that Marlin has done.

Thank you!

Disgusted!

Mr. Bressi was terminated

#5REBUTTAL Owner of company

I would expect nothing less from Mr. Bressi. This type of behavior and his inability to accept responsibility for his behavior and attitude are some of the reasons he was terminated.

chezleduc.com is currently under reconstruction and will be up and running soon
