Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This company posts on many a job website, my boyfriend who has been out of work for quite sometime was contacted back by this company for a job interview. We were both very excited, a job in marketing this could be great. Then he goes for the interview and they say to come back the next day from 9:45-5 for "orientation" They took him out to Lakeland for the whole day to train on how to do door to door sales. So he wasn't even able to be with his car to leave once finding out you get no paycheck from this place. This job doesn't even pay! They are a commission only job, they do not tell you this up front!!! The area for sales is not even in Tampa so you have to drive your own vehicle, pay for your own gas and food and you are not guaranteed any money if you don't sell. For someone out of work with no money already this is ridiculous, we need a job to pay for the darn gas and food needed to do this so called "job" and they aren't paying. This is not a real job, this is a if your great at being a con-artist door to door salesman fine, but don't let them waste your time for 10rs for no pay and not telling you what your going to be expected to do. You will not get an hourly paycheck from this company without selling. Don't let them get your hopes up on getting a job for those who are out of work and down on their luck as they did with us. They should not be posting this position as a real job on job finder websites!!! This is a major let down and a total fraud to people who need steady employment!!

I currently work for Choice Marketing and thought I should give everyone some information about these positions.  When I started the interview process everyone was very helpful and answered any questions that they have.  Choice Marketing has a business to business position and in-store retail position that they usually hire for.  They are both sales, customer service, and marketing positions.  They are EXACTLY what they say, "Business to Business" and "In-Store Retail" positions.  During the interview process, the owners make it VERY clear that you will be leaving the office to with one of the Account Managers to see exactly what they do day to day to see if it is a good fit for both the candidate and the company. If it's a good fit- great, if not- not a big deal.  They don't want to waste your time or theirs.  The pay- there are different pay structures available.  Verizon is an in-store retail location- so by law they have to pay at least min. wage.  They have a GUARANTEED BASE no matter what your sales-no quota. Your commissions are whatever amount you make over your guaranteed base- seems fair.  For Staples- they do have a base+comission or commission+bonuses.  There is a quota for that campaign and like all sales companies- quotas are normal.  The quota is low and not hard at all.  Most reps hit the quote in 3 days.  They aren't just going to keep you around if you aren't making any money.  You can make GREAT money with both companies, you just have to work hard.  I personally love writing my own paycheck each week.  I make my own money instead of having someone choose how much I  make every week.  I build relaitonships with my clients and I make a lot of money each week.  If you would like to sit at a desk all day- this is NOT for you.  If you don't mind working hard- get ready to work hard and play even harder!

How do you guys stay in business base on what these comments say? Simple, you lie to keep going and scam people.

I read these reports and was changing my mind about Choice Marketing Concept until I called them to ask if what I read what true or not and how do they actually pay empolyees. Well Witney said that there's a base pay that you can choose as an option with 8% commission you can earn and the base wasn't depending on sales, I asked this because I was looking for a stable income and I don't want to have a job completely based offon chance so I got excited about the job and went to the interview the next. While I was there I asked the interviewer the samething and got the same response from him like the one Witney gave me and than they told me that if they're interested in hiring me that I will get a call back at 6:00pm that day which I did end up getting. Now it's time for the second interview, on the second interview you pretty much follow a manager around while they explain what they do daily. It's a very time consuming interview which takes hours and the bonus to that is you're not even going to be at the same location you parked so you can leave when you find out they all they told you were lies so you end up stuck there for hours even if you don't want to be. This company directly lies to you and misleads you to have you stranded for hours with no choice but to stay until the interview ends.  I really hope something is done about these people because this type of treatment to others isn't right and can cost people a lot of time and possibly their previous jobs.

I honestly thought this company was nice at first but it quickly changed on that second interview, so if anyone is reading this considering this company please don't unless you really enjoy marketing and selling just to make a salary.

I know the ratings on glassdoor can be confusing but remember that a lot of those reviews are done by long term workers for that same companying misleading people and of course they will say whatever nice thing you want to hear about them just to get you into that interview office.

All of these types of companies are the same, and are affiliates of Smart Circle.  From their non-existent positions for entry-level management, junior account managers, needing sports-minded people, public relations, to their cookie-cutter websites these clowns prey on new graduates, and people desperate for a job.  In the Tampa area there is also Innovate Industries, and Stalwart Concepts.  In the Sarasota/Bradenton Area there is Sharper Advertising and Next Global Solutions. In Ft Myers one of these companys has changed their name THREE TIMES in one year!  They started out as Hi-Def Marketing, then changed to Rise Media, and is now calling themselves Premier Media Inc. Goggle some of these joker's websites and visit their Facebook Pages.  Nothing but fake pictures of people in a business setting, quotes from famous people about work ethics, and lame motivational posters.

Although your response was very well-written, I find it very peculuar that the "EX-EMPLOYEE" and the "CURRENT EMPLOYEE" posted their responses on the same day within. HOW CUTE. Who did you pay to write those? Maybe somebody would believe if you didn't have OTHER RIP OFF REPORTS

http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/choice-marketing-/Tampa-Florida/choice-marketing-Aka-choice-marketing-concepts-aka-choice-marketing-tampa-Aka-cmc-Door-t-1127901

Door-to-door is a sales technique in which a salesperson walks from the door of one location to the door of another trying to sell a product or service to the general public. A variant of this involves cold calling first, when another sales representative attempts to gain agreement that a salesperson should visit.

Business to business sales is STILL DOOR TO DOOR.

for quill y ou claim you offer a base of 500 a week however you have to do $2200 worth of DOOR TO DOORs sales to "qualify" for the base. SO you have to make over $600 in commission to get a ase of 500. If you don't do 2200 in sales, you get straight commission. STOP LYING. i don't understand how you people can sleep at night.

you people are pathetic. there is a reason that i quit. this so called management training program you have.... "in a year/ year and a half" get promoted? 3 different people told it told kyle 3 years to get promoted to assistant maanger.

The truth about CMC is that they are a very well managed company! Their hiring staff and upper management are great people looking to help others with their opportunity. I know this because I worked for Choice Marketing Concepts.

The hiring process is actually long and time consuming, and they need to make sure the right people are hired, and put the opportunity in the right person's hands. If they don't call you back after the 1st interview, that means they don't feel you are the best fit for the position at that time. It's nothing personal, it's life and not all positions are everyone's cup of tea, which must have been in line with what he was seeking if your boyfriend was offered back and did go in.

There is nothing shaky about the operators or the process of this company, and they are highly credited and their clients are Fortune 500 companies. Why would they have these clients if they felt they wouldn't do them right!! Fake operators are peple who lead you to believe that they are something they really aren't.

Copied directly from the website: "Does “direct marketing” mean door to door sales or telemarketing? For most companies it does, but for Choice Marketing Concepts, we do not conduct any door to door sales or telemarketing."

"I read online that all entry-level sales positions are commission-only. Is this true for Choice Marketing Concepts? No. Because Choice Marketing Concepts works with multiple clients, we offer several compensation packages, in which the packages and amounts are determined on a per-candidate basis during the interview process by our hiring managers."

"What will I be responsible for as an Account Manager? Account Managers are responsible for promotional sales and marketing, customer acquisitions and retention, and brand awareness for our clients. Successful Account Managers will also be responsible for employee training and development, running meetings, and new employee recruiting, through our Management Development Program. To learn more about employment with Choice Marketing Concepts please call: 813.289.6111 or fill out an application to join the team!"

This tells you exactly what they do and every word of it is true. People need to understand that talking bad about companies that don't deserve it is ridiculous and disrespectful. If you have never worked there, then you know nothing!

I no longer work for the company due to circumstances that I could not work FULL TIME with my children and the distance I had to travel home. But I know if I ever needed a FULL TIME job they would take me back, because those are the type of people that care about their employees and their reputation!

Our Company Could Not Be In Business If This Were True

I'm not sure where the miscommunication occured, but we wanted to reply and explain the misunderstanding here. I am not sure what problems you could possibly have going through a job interview, but most take at least several hours total due to testing and do not always result in a position or a candidate being a good fit on either end. This is a marketing company and is clearly stated so on our website.

That process was not an orientation, but was a full-day interview designed to shadow a current employee so that you can get a realistic perspective on what to expect if offered the position. This is explained to every candidate beforehand, and it allows you a chance to ask any and every question you may have about the company, our goals, and most importantly your potential role in the future of our organization. This form of interview also gives us the opportunity to get to know you and see how your education and experience can help us grow as a company.

We have never assigned the territory of Lakeland to any member of our staff. The only representative that has ever worked Lakeland as a daily territory was an Assistant Manager who specifically requested it as a territory. We also do not do residential or door to door sales.

The business division of Staples, Quill.com, does entail visiting with local business and commercial customers with accounts to work directly with them on their products and their purchases. The position with Staples offers a $500 weekly salary, including a 7% commission structure. You also have the option to pick a lucrative bonus structure on a weekly basis if you so choose, and this also includes a 28% commission structure and neither option is forced upon anyone.

This is always covered upfront with every candidate, and we also make every effort to make this as crystal clear during the process as possible. Just because it was not a good fit for you and your boyfriend does not mean it is no longer a "real" or legitimate position. We have over 40 full time employees at our company currently, all of which get paid fairly for the job that they perform and require their compensation here to support themselves and their families.

An hourly rate is offered by our second client Verizon as well, which is a retail-based representative position where you actually work from Verizon's local retail stores, again not performing any door to door or residential work. CareerBuilder, where your application was received, also does not allow "fake" jobs to be posted, and every statement on their website is double checked for accuracy and misleading claims are always taken down. This is part of their policies that companies are required to agree and adhere to before listings are allowed to be posted.

For any further questions, please feel free to visit our website at cmctampabay.com and read through our FAQ section. You may also reach out to Human Resources at (813) 289-6111 if you have any other questions regarding any open positions or opportunities within our company. We did appreciate your time either way, and do still wish you the best of luck in finding something more suitable for you and your boyfriend in the future.
