My air conditioner wasn't working i got an estimate for 700 dollars, the mechanic told me the dryer was bad and there was leak in the hose attached to it. I went to a different garage and they repaired it for 210 dollars and said the dryer was fine. My air is working fine and in Texas is mandatory! I guess these Christian brothers know that.

Christian Brothers Rip off

I had an A/C problem with my vehicle, and I had the same thing happen. Christian Brothers mis-diagnosed the problem tried to charge me over $300 and I got it fixed at an honest professional ASE shop for $120 including labor because it turned out that it wasnt what they claimed it was. I took mine to a different one in Texas(round rock) and this seems to be the mode they operate in...always trying to make a sale off of uninformed people. Crooked businesses like this usually operate on the fact that people tend to NOT voice their complaints and the few that do they try to discredit them.

Christian Brothers was truly trying to fix your car right and that place that charged you 210.00 could very well now cost you more very soon. The gentleman responding before is correct that the AC is a self contained unit that does not handle moisture very well once exposed to outside elements. Once a hose or other a/c component has been exposed to such conditions it is wise if not necessary to replace the drier. My shop in Irving would not touch that job unless you replaced the drier. So no, they were looking to fix it right, not rip you off.

There's some rule or law that says you MUST have air conditioning? That's funny. There's a huge difference between FIXING the problem, and patching it. Whenever the A/C system is opened, FIXING the system requires replacing the reciever/drier, or accumulator, whichever your car has. This contains a dessicant bag that absorbs moisture that accumulates inside the system. If it's not replaced, the repair is not FIXED, it's PATCHED. The first place wanted to REPAIR your car properly. The other did a cheap PATCH that will come back to haunt you down the road. One shop is legit, the other is run by some JackLeg.
