Complaint Review: Christopher Baccus - Internet

This week after doing a Google search on my name I learned this report exists. I had two initial reactions:

1.Absolute disgust with what is posted here.

2.Who posted this blatant character attack on me?

The only situation I was dealing with at the time of this report was with a very angry U-Verse customer who felt she deserved a $500+ credit from my former employer. I was actively trying to help the person out working with our customer service team.  However the customer felt it was not moving fast enough and accused me on another site of being drunk when responding to issues using Twitter DMs while I was at SxSW trying to resolve the customer's situation on a Saturday night.  This report however is far worse and far more evil than that attack and another set of vengeful tweets sent to me in March 2012. 

I have also learned that RipOffReports does allow arbitration, but after some Google searches about arbitration I found out its results are less than promising.  This site reports arbitration does not mean the report will be removed.  So I am including this rebuttal in case someone comes upon this page when doing a Google search on me.

Following this site’s guidance on rebuttals, I am to address the factual disparities of this report. I’d like to address them all now:

Where I work: 
Yes I did work at AT&T at the time this report was filed.

My contact information: 
The address posted here I lived at from 2010-11, not in 2012 when this report was filed. I also had a very similar phone number listed on this website, but not this exact number. 

I sell lame cookbooks at ridiculous prices:
I’ve never written a cookbook nor sold someone else’s cookbook. Lame and ridiculous are of course opinion, so I suppose my imaginary cookbooks could be lame and cost a lot. 

Goes to see hookers every week:
This is a statement intending to be fact, but I’d like to know how one proves or refutes this statement?  Since this site is guilty until proven innocent I can only say I have not done this. Though I don’t know how to prove I do not.  I have never been arrested or accused, except on this site, for doing such a thing.  Plus this sounds very expensive and time consuming for my budget and busy life. 

Beats them [hookers]:
Please provide proof of my beating a hooker or anyone else for that matter. Again I can only say I have not done this, but cannot prove I have or have not. Nor can the person who posted this.

Hangs out on Internet message boards:
Yes I have since the Internet started, but most of them are on automotive topics and others involve programming.  

[On message boards] begs to be f**** up the a** with a strap on:
I have only one memory of begging while on a message board. I have begged for help on how to remove a rusted bolt from an IACV (Idle Air Control Valve.) I may have at one point use the word f*** or a** and may or may not have attempted to dislodge said rusted bolt from the car by whacking it with a strap-on (I’m sure I tried everything possibly including said sexual toy removal process.)  I eventually went to my mechanic who used a blowtorch to remove the bolt.  Other than that frustrating moment in automotive ownership, I can assure you I have not begged for any other joy on an Internet Message Board.

Spelling correction to address accuracy:
If we are being factual here on Ripoff Reports then I am obliged to respond that “immedeately" is correctly spelled “immediately.”   That one is a bonus.

In Summary…

While I am less than thrilled this report exists, please do not take my response to the allegations as me not taking this serious.  I do take it serious. I am quite disturbed this page exists on me.  I am offended by everything it claims.  BUT this is the Internet and this site thrives on the s****.>

It brings in my family and career in a destructive, vindictive way.  It even includes a photo of me with my kids that I have requested the site to remove, hopefully that will be honored.

This response is all I can do to set the record straight about my character.  I also am aware that responding increases the chances people will see this, as the report now has more content for the search engines to index, and yes that disgusts me further.  Regardless, I guess it’s better than not responding, because the “report” here is sick and requires a chance for me to set things straight.

Last but not least, I don’t really know who filed this report or why.  I mentioned earlier I was dealing at this time with someone very angry with my former employer and I was the “face” helping her through what ended up being a 2-month process to get the issue remedied. Early in that process, this person attacked me on other social networks and the situation was in the heat of it when this report was posted.  So I’m assuming it is related to that.  It may not be.  It could be a lot of other things like mistaken identity since the personal information is an odd jumble of Googled info about me; though, the phone number is similar to one I had (it has one number wrong in it.) There are also a variety of people named Christopher and various spellings of my last name.

The only “facts” I know about the person who posted this is he/she is from Beverly Hills, CA where I know one person, a great creative director I used to work with.  The other thing I know is the report was posted in the Arizona Time zone.   I know a few mommy bloggers that are located in Arizona and all of them are wonderful people so that doesn’t tell me much.  Beyond that the report doesn’t disclose much else. 

All I can hope is after two plus years the anger reported here has subsided and life is back to normal for the report filer.  Unfortunately, even if this report is a mistaken identity or the moment of anger directed at my former employer has passed, this site doesn’t let the poster remove it from what I read.  So that is why I had to publicly respond here. There just are almost no options to get this corrected other than my option to openly rebut it and increase site SEO. It’s a lose, lose situation.
