CIC Credit Monitoring ripoff Deceptive advertisement accessing bank account with out permission theft of money non production of alledged Free Credit Report California
To make a long story short, I was solicited via e-mail in reference to my credit report.??? I was alarmed and responded to the e-mail. After signing on to the web site, I was offered a free credit report and it was advertised in such a manner that lead me to believe I could view the report on the internet. After entering pertanent information, the bottom of the page requested credit card info or bank info. It did disclose that a fee of 9.95 would apply, but not for the credit report, the charge was for a "Credit Monitoring Service" that they provided. The problem is, after reconsidering enrolling in the "30 day free trial membership", I decided to remove the imformation and close the web site for fear of a scam. HA!! I guess I wasn't quick enough. Obviously, some how they captured the information or have another source for providing information, because they have entered my bank account twice. Once in Jan-2005 and once in Feb-2005 and have caused my account to bounce. The charge of $9.95 per month has been applied, but without my permission. After doing a little more research I have discovered other Phone numbers : 1-866-841-6376. This was discovered after I tried to log back into my file and discovered my password and user name had been frozen. The proper authorities will be notified in writing.
