Cincinnati Insurance Companies (AKA Cincinnati Financial Corp) represents an Indianapolis Cable installation company called Classic Cable. Classic Cable installed a modem cable in my home last July under contract to Time Warner AKA Brighthouse. The cable was improperly installed, creating a trip hazard.

In August I fell over the cable, crashed into my dining room chairs and demoloshed 3 chairs and our custom table. I saw a doctor and wound up going to a neurologist and finding out my spinal cord is pinched and compressed in my neck. The only treatment available to me is a complex surgery (Laminectomy)removing bone from C3-through C7. I may need a second surgery after the first to repair damaged discs in my neck.

I reported the accident to Brighthouse Cable immediately. They failed to respond in any manner until I went into their office in person in November of last year and demanded to see someone about the accident and my injuries. Brighthouse sent Classic Cable back out and they properly re-installed cables in our upstairs and downstairs rooms. They also took our table and chairs to be repaired.

Cincinnati Insurance Companies (CIC) finally contacted me on December 18th at 8:30 in the evening. The adjuster, a Ms. Foster agreed to call me back on Monday as I was in the midst of my wife's X-Mas party at work. She did not call back on Monday...or for 3 more weeks. When it became apparent she was not going to properly handle my claim, I contacted an attorney and retained him to handle the case.

Ms. Foster finally returned my call and I advised her to contact the attorney. I relented after that and parted ways with the attorney over other issues and decided to allow CIC to complete the claim, figuring they'd do so in a timely manner. NOT!

From Mid December until February 22 of this year, CIC and Foster have done absolutely nothing. She did come to my home on Jan 27th and take pictures of the area where the accident occurred - but of course it had been re-installed months before - and I agreed to give a statement the following week. She saw our table is still not useable (Can't put a square leg in a round table slot!) and advised she would be speaking with her insured within the next week and would advise them about the bad repair of the table.

I finally got fed up this week and started firing off correspondence to Ms. Foster complaining about her failure to keep appointments or return calls as promised. She faults her insured for not filing the claim in a timely manner, and is not concerned in the least about my continued pain and need for surgery. Now she wants to hint that the fall was my fault and "It has come to her attention that I may have been treated for a back problem before the fall"...well yes, my BACK over 3 years ago! Not my neck or spinal cord.

I have forwarded all correspondence to Brighthouse and Road Runner and as yet they have not contacted me with any desire to resolve this mess and let me get the needed surgery and get on with my life.

I have advised Brighthouse and CIC that I intend to start a picketing campaign beginning 3/1 in front of Brighthouse's office and all independent insurance agents who are affilliated with CIC or write policies for them.

Please do not purchase your personal, business or medical insurance policies from CIC. I have been all over the net and find they frequently practice slow-walking their claims for months before forcing people into filing suit against them. (See: http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/news/local/4339878.htm?1c).

Don't wait until it's too late and you have their insurance and need to file a claim...it'll sux!

On my original report I inaccurately stated that I had had BACK problems in the past...it should read 13 years ago, not 3 years ago.
