I called Cinergy after seeing a commercial. I asked soo many questions because we are cautious with our money and the smooth talking sales agent had all the right answers. I was told my premium would be locked in for a year and my benefits would not go down among many other things that were flat out blatent lies. I made sure ALL of our family's doctors were in network (yep. of course they all were) I was told surgeries were 80/20 split and $1000/day for hospital stays. He made it sound like a good plan for us.. I set it up for auto-pay. He said that was the only way they take payment. That should've been a red flag. I had no idea what was to come.

I first got a little suspicious the first time I used my insurance card at my family doctor. The receptionist asked after running the card where I got it. She said she wasn't familiar with it and further more it was declined. I payed the full amount for visit. They gave me the papers to make the claim myself.

Next, at my kid's pediatrician visit, I proudly pull out my new ins. card and I got a strange response from lady at the desk. She copied the card and ran it and asked where I got it. She looked confused. I payed the full amount then she gave me papers to file claim myself.

At this point I have three claims to file. Nobody would answer when I called. I sometimes would hear a real person's voice and I  would be put on hold until I was hung up on. Here's a tip I learned..if you want to talk to someone there, press "3" for sales! They ALWAYS answer! Soon my payment had gone up by over $100 a month. I soon got a letter saying my benefit for doctors visits would drop from $100/visit down to $70/visit. Huh, I wasn't sure anymore I had ANY benefits! Now we are starting to feel like we had gotten ripped off.

A few weeks ago I went with my husband to have a biopsy on a lump he had. The receptionist was a lady who was friends with my mother. She ran the card..Oh Yeah! The usual! "Where did you get this?" I was so embarassed I started crying. She did a little research for us and said if we were to be hospitalized, it would all be out of our pockets. What happened to $1000 a day? She said we would have to file the claim ourselves. Heard that before!! We payed for that diagnostic test that day and the entire visit. Thank God the lump was benign.

When we left I called Cinergy. As usual, the only line to be answered was YEP! sales! Nobody would help me. I was crying. Begging for help..answers..something! I asked for a supervisor. They said one would be contacting me the next day. When they didn't I called to cancel. I was transferred to another smooth talking salesperson. She tried to talk me out of it. My mind was made up. I just wanted to be done with them. She said I would have to fax a signed letter and call in 48 hours to make sure it was cancelled. I wasted no time to fax it. I called in 2 days. I had to call repeatedly. They kept hanging up on me. All I wanted to know was that they recieved fax and it was cancelled. I called so many times my number is now blocked. When I call it goes straight to an automated message. My husband called from his phone, pressed 3 for sales. When they found out he was my husbad he was put on hold then when he called back, his number had been blocked too. We tried to send another fax and found out they gave us a bogus number. Was in shock!!

In summary, I ended up checking rip-off report. Of course they're on here!! I felt so stupid. My next autopay comes out in a few days and we didn't want them taking anymore money from us ( oh yeah did I mention they jacked up our premium with no notice?).Fearing they would continue to give us the run around then steal more money we had to do a hard close at our bank (close account and open new one) and the bank is filing a fraud dispute. Ugh! What a nightmare. I am not done with them. If anyone knows of a way I can get any of our hard earned money back, please let me know! Anyone that wants to do a joint civil suit, COUNT US IN! And if anybody is considering doing business with these people DON'T! Beleive me. It's not woth it.
