Cinergy Health is a rip off! I made the mistake of falling for its ploy to sign up and produce your credit card number over the phone for them. I was told that I could cancel the plan whenever I wanted to and that I would be refunded the entire amount. I opted to cancel it a day later after rethinking it. I was told I had to fax a letter to cancel the plan and I did that the next day.

My credit card was not refunded $50 and after calling their RUDE customer service center, I was told that it is a nonrefundable application fee. This was not mentioned in the initial call to sign me up and when I stressed this, I was given no answers and was given the run around. After asking for a supervisor, I was put on hold for 10 minutes and then the same heavily-accented woman told me the same thing. She said that if I would have cancelled it the next day that I would have been refunded the full amount. I was never told this and only cancelled it two days later because I didn't have access to a fax machine.

Needless to say, I never got to talk to a supervisor myself and I have gotten nowhere. This company is shady and is practicing horrible business practices. Do not sign up and use this plan because after looking into it more, I realized that it is not even worth the meager coverage they give you. I hope that others do not make the same mistake that I have and learn from this posting.

Our investigation of your situation has revealed that you were correctly informed of the refund policy on two separate occassions during your initial sales call. However, we apologize if there was any confusion during the phone conversation. We have acknowledged your immediate request for cancellation, and have therefore in the interest of business goodwill, decided to issue you a refund of the enrollment fee, which has been processed back to your account used for payment. We sincerely hope that this rectifies any ongoing complaints that you have.
