Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a cell phone at Circuit City store in Long Beach California on July 14, 2002. The company had a promotion at the time $50.00 rebate for buying Sprints cell phone model lg1010gry.

As store's instruction, I sent in completed forms and my receipt to Circuit City rebates, po box 6017, Norwoood, MN 5558-6017 two days after purchase the phone.

I received letter from Rebate Center saying that I need to summit missing rebate redemption form dated August 25,2002.Four weeks after sending the paper, I contact to 1-888-213-9761 to find out why I still not received the money, a person whose name "Jeff" answered my phone and told me the reason for delayed because my mailing address was not correct and promised my rebate check will be sending out within 4 weeks.

Today, Nov 23, 2002, I called that number again and talked to another person names "Christine" and foud out that my rebate has been rejected but don't give me a reason why !!!!???? She refused to give me her last name and said that her supervisors all out and don't when they are coming back !!! Also said that if I would like to complain just go ahead and do so !When I said it seemed like I am their next victim in this Scam, she did not give me any response.

Hopefully, the consumers will not let them get away with this scam. Sadly, a big company like Circuit City could playing game like that.

dude, I just want to let you know that I am truly sorry for the comments I made on gurjit saluja. I thought he was a jerk but then again, I did not see his replacement when he left. Now I know he was the best thing that ever happened to the company and it was because of him that things ran so smoothly and that rebates got processed. Now the company is all down hill but the best decision ever made was a decision by both gurjit and circuit city to leave this company. I am going to do the same.

First of all in 85% of cases is that the rebates are not done correctly either from our side or the consumers side. I started at Ya Canada in Chatham since january of 2004. I first wanted to get in the spanish section which yes all the companies require to have spanish reps for their companies. But since they allready had enough employess i was trained in Circuit City english. For what i worked with the Americans i got to know how they did things. Yes they do not read anything and do not submit information correctly. But working for circuit city it wasnt such a problem. I say this now becouse i work with one of the most hard working groups of ya which is the spanish group. We know more than 13 clients which include all of the major big ones like Circuit City,Verizon,T-Mobil,Sears,ETC.. For a big company Circuit City let us do more than any other company that i know and for my experience ive had to say "no" to customers very few times like when they exceed on limits and/or the rebate is not from our department. For the no record situations this is the only company that i know that will let us process the rebate as long as the consumer has a copy of their sales receipt with them to aquire the correct information to process. This is not just for the english callers this is for all callers including the spanish ones two and portuguese as well that we have to take and even russians that dont speak english.I say this becouse since i come from a communist country Cuba i learned a litle bit of russian eneugh to communicate. In compare to "other" companies that the spanish group knows for a no record situation there would be to resubmit copies and if no copies "there is nothing we can do" just as the company tell us how we have to say i. For the most part i do think that we do loose some mail in our process but that only counts to probably 5-10% of all of the non processed rebates from this company. In the end i treat the customers with the same or even better respect that they show for me. I do my job which and the customers do their job of playing stupid and/or not telling the truth which i find out that a lot of customers do when i catch them playing their game. The only advise that i can give is to read everything over and not yell and threaten the rep's becouse is not going to get you far and may even make it worst. And for the comments made before by Circuit city's customer, the only thing i have to say the rebate takes around 8-10 weeks for us to process not including the mailing time. If any doubts read the form!! For our fellow imployees if you know more than Circuit City you will know that circuit city will let us do allmost anything for us to process the customers rebate.

Tracey You say that people cannot read the rebate and notoriously do not fill them out properly and or the dates are wrong. How many calls that you've taken have you been advised that the Sales Rep on the floor gave the customer an outdated rebate, the wrong rebate, or the wrong information? It is the responsibility of the Sales Rep to be honest and accurate in my opinion. I agree that some customers do not read the entire rebate, and the fine print, but I don't believe that 85% of all Americans are that illiterate. The majority of the people I spoke to on the phone were intelligent and frustrated that they had to go through all the red tape to get something that is in fact their money. I think I would be frustrated as well. I have heard some of the reps speaking to customers on the phone, to be honest if a rep spoke to me like I was a 2 year old I would get upset and insulted. I heard that on a regular basis and in my opinion that is lousy customer service and not an acceptable practice. These reps like to speak to each other in that manner so be it, but adults earned a right to be spoken to with respect.

I am a employee for the circuit city rebate center. We should be treated with respect and no threaten from consumers. Us at the rebate center do our best to keep the consumers from complaining from not getting there rebate. We should be treated with alot of respect. Like I said if it wasn't for us then there would be alot of complaing and bitching going on. I DIDN'T GET MY REBATE I AM GOING TO CALL THE ATTOURNEY GENERAL. I HAVE HEARD IT ALL. BOO h*o.

we do stand behind our rebates

I am a employee that works for circuit city rebate center. I know that we do stand behind our rebates. The people that send in there rebates seem that they can't read instructions. The instructions on clear on the rebate form. THat is why people always complain is because they don't get the rebate. The dates are clear on the form when they have purchase. I think we do a excellent job on our behalf. If it wasn't for us then they would be lost. I wouldn't put circuit city rebate center down. We are the ones working for you.

Jeff & Christine advised you as they were trained to. My advice is to request to speak to their Lead or their Leads Supervisor as there is always someone there during the hours the company is open for business. Tina is the Supervisor for Circut City in Young America, but is leaving for maternity leave. There is a "cool line" to take escallated calls and they can if necessary reprocess your rebate. The company director Gurjit Saluja does not return calls to consumers, he will not override the decision made to reject, unqualify or process your rebate. Of the 500 +/- people working there 85% of the rebates submitted are no record rejected, or unqualified. The people you speak to are not the ones who make the decision to do this, the processing department has that call and of course one does not speak to the other ever. Ask to have your original submission pulled, by law they have to file these. No promises that it will get you anywhere though. If your requested to resubmit or fax your information in, request the Chatham Ontario Canada address and or fax number and the Lead's name, all leads have the ability to override any decision and process anything. Honey will get you every possible chance to get your rebate. In the end though, it is Circut City's decision how many rebates get processed. Think about it, a rebate gets advertised, how many items sell? Do you think that Circut City would give millions of dollars to the call center to honor all rebates? They count on these factors...how many people will loose the rebate and not sent it in, how many will not read the "fine print", how many not make copies, and how many will remember after 8 - 12 weeks that they even sent it in in the first place...from there then maybe "some" funds will go to honor "some" rebates. Just an educated guess on my part from being at the call center for a year but common sense says that if it were me, I'd ask the company to give me the amount on the rebate as a discount and Circut City submit the rebates, they still get their money back it's unlikely that the company will rip off their own stores, and you don't have the hassel. I would do that for ANY rebates on ANY item including Verison, AT&T, Amana Maytag, etc. If everyone did this, maybe the rebate process would become more honest, and or be elliminated and sales would be on the floor not something you have to submit and fight for.

arrogant and honesty isn't is strong suit, employee's of Young America are treated with the same respect and dignity as the consumers

It may interest you to know that the Director of the call ccenter that has the authority to process your rebate or not, wears a turban. He is arrogant and honesty isn't is strong suit. It may also interest you to know that the call center that you contact for Circuit City rebates, po box 6017, Norwoood, MN 5558-6017 at 1-888-213-9761 is in Ontario Canada and the people you spoke to "Jeff" and "Christine" are fellow employee's. 85% of rebates are unqualified, rejected, or "lost in the mail" by the US post office. If you send your submission in certified mail, it is the Post Office that signs for them at a US Office and they are forwarded to Canada. Keep copies of EVERYTHING you submit and insist on getting the Canadian fax # if you have to fax in your resubmission. If you get no results ask to speak to a Lead or "their" supervisor, not the clients supervisor. Don't ask for Gurjits number or to speak to him, he won't. Hope it helps. Also note that the employee's of Young America are treated with the same respect and dignity as the consumers. We say what we say on the phone to you because we are told to say word for word the scripting you hear.
