I BOUGHT AN LG 32" LCLXD1 BACK IN 12/05 FOR $1800 WITH A WARRANTY PROTECTION FOR $315, DUE TO RENOVATION THAT DID NOT TAKE PLACE AS SCHEDULED THIS SAT IN BOX UNTIL 10/06. FINALLY HOOKED UP BY CABLE AND PROGRAMED. THIS TV HAD IT ALL. MEMORY CARD, TV GUIDE, HDMI, PC, HDTV, SURROUND SOUND, YOU NAME IT. BEAUTIFUL TV, UNTIL 5/1 ENTIRE TV WENT BLACK. I CALL CIRCUIT CITY FOR REPAIR, NO REPAIR, LCD PANEL GONE AND TOO MUCH TO FIX.

WAITING NOW GOING ON 3 MONTS FOR REPLACEMENT OF EQUAL VALUE AND QUALITY. OFFERED A SAMSUNG LT FOR $800 AS REPLACEMENT. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!

I SHOULD TAKE A THOUSAND DOLLAR LOSS FOR A DEFECTIVE TV. I DO NOT THINK SO. IF NEED BE I WILL GO TO COURT. I HAVE ALREADY FILED WITH BBB. WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY IS THIS??? I PAID MORE THAN THE WARRANTY AVAILABLE, YET NEVER WAS GIVEN A COPY OF THE WARRANTY THAT I DID PURCHASE. WHAT GOES HERE. THEY MAKE UP THE WARRANTY TO FIT THEIR NEEDS NOT YOURS, I AM LIVID. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BY THRU THIS COMPANY.

I WILL STICK WITH THE MORE REPUTABLE COMPANIES AROUND, LIKE SEARS, MACY'S ETC.

First let's address the 'not getting paper work'. The most paper work you will get is a receipt and a general booklet. The only thing actually needed is the receipt or proof there of in the system( I.e the phone number you gave at the time of purchase, the credit card number used, or just the reciept number). With the warranty's though, your getting a replacement similar in FEATURES, Not cost. With the fluctuation of prices on things, Features is what they are replaced with. Also, If you really think your getting 'ripped off'. Think about this, you could have not paid for the protection plan and been out all that money and had a broken tv. Instead, now your getting a better tv at no additional cost to you.

It is appart that during your remodel you failed to see that the years have gone by since you tv was purchased. 32" LCD TVs no longer cost 1800$, even the new Sony XBR4 is only like 1300 right now. As for them replacing it with a Samsung that is good. It will have more HDMI inputs, better black levels, and a built in digital tuner. If you would like it replaced with the new LG then you will have to give back 100 of those dollars because it is even cheaper. Your getting a newer better high def tv what is the problem?
