After over 10 months of "testing" and harassment of anyone I could contact at TAIS they used their "buy back program" to reimburse me for the laptop. I'm now very happy with the 2 Gateways I purchased from Best Buy.

alright phil i'll play your game with you. 1. if circuit city did not accept the return before the 14 day period, then that store happened to be staffed by a bunch of idiots. i'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but only a slight benefit. 2. for the first year, if it was manufacter damages, yes it goes to toshiba, but toshiba will only cover what they think they caused, if they think you caused it, they are going to throw it right back on your lap and tell you stfu 3. by this point, tell toshiba you want a new laptop...its the third freaking time now and i would have gotten a new one from them, i dont care how many non-english speaking reps you have to talk to, ask for a supervisor that speaks english and you will get somewhere, if i can pull a new laptop out of hp with 2 phone calls, its not that hard for other companies, you just have to say the right things and finally my pet peeve of all, everytime im standing in line at customer service and hear a customer say it, i want to rack them on the back of the head with a broom handle, IT IS NOT CIRCUIT CITY'S PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best buy,now closing comp usa, office max, staples and every stinking electronics store carry the toshiba laptops. just because you got a crap laptop from toshiba dosent mean you shun circuit city. you gunna go shun every store that sells toshiba? hell you wont even have a place to buy a computer at anymore much less get parts from china and build it yourself....oh crap thats toshiba area too! only reason you should have a problem with circuit city is if they really didnt return it in the 14 day period, which as i said, if they didnt are a bunch of idiots working at that store in particular. the store in my area replaced my laptop three times till i got one that worked. do your research next time before you buy a product, thats why there are internet terminals in CC, also if you blue screened on day 1, you should have been back in that store 5 minutes after it blue screened, i would have.

Just to be clear... 1. During the 14 day period I was told by CC to go through Toshiba. 2. The person at the Firedog counter told me that even if I had purchased the service plan it would still go through Toshiba for the initial one year period. 3. Toshiba have "serviced" it twice already without actually fixing anything. It is now on the way back for a 3rd attempt. 4. Again, the issues including the blue screen errors have been occuring since DAY 1. I wouldn't be this upset if it happened after a few months, nor would I expect CC to replace the laptop at that point. Another suggestion I 'm looking at at the moment is filing a dispute through American Express.

I've been there . First , file a complaint with your local Office of Attorney General Consumer Affairs , before your warranty runs out . ASAP . In your complaint on what you want to resolve the issue , write replacement PC of equal or better quality and value . ( I received a better PC - refurbished ,but better - and have had it for nearly 4 years now ) . The OAG will forward your complaint to the consumer contact person of the warranty Co. Be aggressively assertive , and demand a replacement . The warranty Co. that contacted me said they would not give me a new replacement , but a refurbished of equal or better quality . You have nothing to lose , and should get a 3 month warranty on the replacement .

well i hate to say that Circuit city only offers a 14 day guarantee (unlss u buy the extra protection plan) not a lifetime guarantee....ur pc is undr manufactur warranty and i think u need to contact toshiba executive office for help....obviously CC executive office has told u about thier 14 day guarantee....if they replace your laptop anytime u want when u r hving problmes with it then i also want that guarantee along with alot of other consumers...a reailer can not make money like that. CC sells the product, provides u with 14 day guarantee nd even offers additional protection at an extra cost of course...so instead of contacting CC go to toshiba executive support....
