Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a laptop from Circuit City last yearfor $ 1400, and I also purchased an extended warranty for over $200. After a few months the computer no longer worked, and Circuit City refused to repair the unit, or make good on their warranty. I filed a report with RipoffReport.com, report # 95365 on June 17th of this year. Finally, Circuit City said all they would do is refund my cost of the extended warranty since the laptop didn't last long enough to use the warranty.

Being at the mercy of their deceitful business practices, I filled out the City Advantage Cancellation Form at their store on June 23rd, they gave me a ticket # 340301013564, and it was signed by Nina in customer service. They faxed it in and told me I would get a check in the mail within 30 days.

I waited 2 months, and no check. I called the store and they told me that the faxed hadn't gone through, and they would refax it, and I would get my check in 30 days. 2 more months went by and again I called. They said they would look into it. Here I am, 5 months later and still no check.

Frankly, I think Circuit City banks on people forgetting or giving up on their refunds. I am not asking for a favor here. THIS IS MY MONEY, and I want it back.

People, let me warn you. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CIRCUIT CITY. They will deceive you every chance they get. Don't take my word for it, look at all the vast quantity of other reports about them on this website alone. Read the updates from their own employees. It's the same complaints over and over and over again. One large corporation stealing and deceiving and preying on hardworking consumers like you and me. Circuit City will promise you the world, until they have your money. Then, it's a whole other attitude.

There's plenty of businesses out there that sell the same products, and actually care about you as a customer, and a human being. I will continue to wait for my refund, and I will post an update when I receive it.

Well, I would like to thank Kristopher for taking the time to respond, not only in this complaint, but in my previous one as well. I don't doubt that you are content working for Circuit City, and I don't doubt your dedication to your employer. You are actually the only employee that has responded to my concerns, whereas your employer and supervisors have neglected to respond to anything. I wouldn't doubt if you end up being store manager there one day. You can probably see my point of view, Kris. If I owed you a couple of hundred dollars, and you kept asking me for it, and I didn't cough it up, you'd be steaming yourself. Your 30 day wait is already absurd to wait for your own money. I mean, how long does it take to spit out a check and mail it out? Then of course, 5 months is absolutely ridiculous. Why should I be begging for my own money back time and time again? I don't think you disagree with me. You can see that I'm a patient man, I waited 5 months to file this report. I'm sure that Circuit City has millions of happy customers with no problems. I just don't seem to be one of them, and only speak based only on my own experiences with your company. As far as your offer to help me get my refund, it would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to get any answers anywhere else, and I'm sure that if I don't follow through agressively, I will never receive my money. I will post any update to this issue.

Hello Albert, It is me again. I know about the situation that you were previously upset about and I commented on your other complaint. I see that for your refund Nina is the only person that you spoke with. I'm sorry that it is taking so long to get your refund. However, the store is not directly to blame for this. I will however TRY to help you out once again. I don't know who all you have talked to, but I would definitely recommend speaking with Steve (our Operations Manager) or Josh (our Store Director). However, I would strongly recommend waiting until Monday, November 29th to do so. Ask them to make the necessary fax and phone call(s) while you are still there! I still get very frustrated with people saying that Circuit City purposely rips people off and doesn't care about the customer. What bothers me more is when the store that I'm in is specifically targeted because that is VERY FAR FROM THE TRUTH!!!!! I can say this with great confidence because I work there and know everybody else that works there quite well. There are a few people that I'm not all that fond of, as there would be ANYWHERE. I know that my store director goes WAY above and beyond for the customer. If you feel that we don't care about the customer in my store than you must not shop anywhere else in Port Charlotte!!!!
