Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I received a parking ticket. I am not the greatest when it comes to parking. My bad. Anyway, I submitted an affidavit of correction because it wasn't under my name, but a family member who gave me the car. The car has been under my name for months now, but they submitted the ticket under my family member's name which now affects my cousin's credit score. On the ticket, they threaten to have the DMV refuse to renew the registation of any vehicle whoe registered owner has failed to pay the ticket. I don't mind paying that much, but I would have really appreciated at least changing the information to match my name on the vehicle, so my family member wouldn't receive any penalty. I even have a picture with a time stamp of when I sent in the affidavit of correction. If that was accepted, then I could have paid the ticket in the lower amount with my name.

I called and was told that they wouldn't be able to change the name that is on the ticket even though my name has been registered on the car for months. Also, luckily, the DMV refused to place a hold on my vehicle and I was able to register my car at the time of renewal.

They really prefer checks instead of payment online which is odd and they do not allow payment plans.

Here is a link from OC Weekly criticizing the fraudulent practices of this company. This should be under a public government service instead of a private company, so there are clear rules and regulations and they would be able to at least accept an affidavit of correction. This company is actually under Data Ticket Inc. which may not even have a license to issue tickets resulting in a complete lack of regulation. This ticket would also not be able to be disputed through an administrative hearing even though it's "one of the few rights Californians still have in a parking case, at least on paper, is the right to a hearing before a neutral party. “Neutral” is the key word. Section 40215 4(A) states, “An examiner shall not be employed, managed or controlled by a person whose primary duties are parking enforcement, parking citation, processing, collection or issuance. The examiner shall be separate and independent from the citation collection or processing function.”

Overall, this isn't a great company. Why attach an affidavit of correction form and not accept it once it is submit or just lose the correction without notifying anyone?
