Citi Financial Associates, One Main Intentionally Deceptive, Discrepancies in Accounting, columbus, Ohio
Its a home mortgage in Pa. Began as Associates, sold to Citi-Fiancial. A 7000 charge that is unexplained. Payments made at branch offices with employess unable to answer any questions, stating they only collect money.
Citi sold to One Main. They now refuse to accept payments. I have not receive mail statements from Citi for over 7yrs. Discrepancies in interests charged, also unexplained. I was in a program where if payments were made on time for 3yrs, 3% would be reduced on the interest. I had a 12% down to 8% but just 2 months ago, the One Main office said I was still at 12%! with no way to explain how? that happend?
I was given a 800 to contact the home office in S.c. to make a payment. I spent almost 2hrs with Customer service trying to locate the correct account number, and other verifying information in order to make a payment. At the endof this lengthy stonewalling, I was informed there would be a $15 charge for using a debit/credit card !, which 2 different customer service reps in 2 different calls said they would waive this first time. When I checked my bank balances, they DID charge me the $15.
I was also told this is a interest only loan, It will never end unless I make payments on top of the payments toward the principal, which is why the monthly payments all go to interest. I was also told the reason I didnt get mail statements was that I was paid ahead ..and no longer needed to make monthly payments if I didnt want to. NO< This is incorrect information. If you do not make the payments eachmonth, the interest still accrues! daily! I was told this several years ago and did make 3 advance payments with a tax refund check... only to find I was facing foreclosure due to interst payments I couldnt afford to pay!
I asked for a supervisor to speak to, and on the first call, the customer service rep, hung up. the 2nd attempt, I was on hold for over 10mins, then sent to a voice mail. The 3rd attempt is where I was promised I could make a payment with the fee waived..
This account needs a complete audit but I dont know (today) who? what? how? to do this.
example: years ago, I made my monthly payment.. then the next day made another payment and was charged $40 interest for the one day! The branch was unabl to explain this, or adjust this, and I was given a 800 that stonewalled me to the point where I ran out of time to pursue this again .I have kept those records.
Do not sign anything with this company unless reviewed by an attorney would be my best advice. NO, my best advice would be to not work with this company or branch associated with them.
Tomorrow 5-17-2012, I will begin to resolve this payment fee I was charged, sure to have no success but will document my attempts anyway.
