City of Sacramento Parking citation even if the meter molly is wrong will not retract the citation. Disabled citation was issued even though palckard was visable - meter molly would not retract cite. city of Sacramento, California
The meter molly cited me for a parking in disabled space eventhough the plackard was visable (on the seat not covered) at CVS pharmacy on Florin Rd Sacramento CA. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE CVS PHARMACY THIS CHRISTMAS KNOWING THE UNFAIR TREATMENT OF THE METER MOLLY. IT IS A TRAP.
The meter molly was informed of her mistake and would not retract the cite even though proof was shown. Even though we are registered with DMV she aparently does not have any responsibility to look this up.
We are livid. We hate big rip offs and hate CVS and the city of Sacramento because of their lack of responsibility concerning this issue.

First: As the above comment states, CVS has NOTHING to do with it. Blaming CVS for your mistake is just childish.
Second: Check California laws... a simmilar thing happened to me (in another state), and I took it to court. The charge was changed from wrongfully parking in a handicap space ($350) to failure to display my handicap tag ($10), since I did have the tag and just forgot to put it up.

They didn't trap you. By your own admission YOU had the placard on the seat.
The placard MUST be clearly visible. It is not the job of Parking Enforcement to "search" for the placard. If youcheck the regulationson how to display it you would find that itneeds tobe hung from the rear view mirror(that iswhy they are designed they way they are).
It is not the job of Parking Enforcement to check DMV records for the validity. Once the ticket is issued they can not cancel it, unless it was a mistake. ButYOU having the placard improperly displayed is NOT their mistake. However,you shouldhave the right to challege the ticket. But thatwould involvehaving a hearingand getting a judge to agree that you were not in error. All of those instructions would be on the ticket.
CVS has nothing to do with this. Had you been parked in any other business and Parking Enforcement came around and checked the same thing would have happened. CVS has better things to do than to call the police to ticket a car that is parked in a Handicapped space.

I have a disabled placard. It CLEARLY says to hang it from your rear view mirror, NOT leave it on your seat. Why is it CVS's vault that you can not follow directkions. Next time hange it where it can be seen, or better get a disabled license plate. A lot of people cheat with those placards, and it I were the parking police I would ahve given you a ticket too. Hange it from the mirror. AND take it down again when you leave. I see so many people driving with them hanging from the mirror. That IS illeagle. AND it also said on the placard to NOT do that.
