Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This puppy mill sells Golden Retrievers for $1,000 each, yet can't make sure the parents are healthy. I adopted one of the mothers that had been retired. The two women that rescued her made sure to take her to the vet before bringing her to me. She had fleas, ticks, parasites and worms.

I was told that she had been in a very small pen, had only one toy, and was neglected- I BELIEVE IT!!!! When she came to our home, she was 8 yrs old, and had never known any affection. She was scared to come inside, scared to know love, scared to eat her own food, scared to even use the bathroom outside. She is now thriving, but at what cost?? I'm just happy she gets to spend the rest of her life with us- inside, spoiled, and VERY loved!

This man sells puppies for so much money, but can't take care of the mamas that are making him this money. On his website, he discourages people from adopting from a shelter! Please do not pay the money to this man, I hope that he will be reported and shut down very soon!

Just a quick note on Clarks Golden Retrievers of Green Cove Springs Florida. We purchased two puppies from two different litters. We bought the second one when the first was 6months old. We bought the second puppy from them because our vet had nothing to say but great things about the health of the puppy we got from Clarks. He was healthy, free of parasites and fleas/ticks. Both are now over a year old and extremely healthy with unbelievable dispositions. No behavior problems either. The had both been socialized and adapted quickly to their new home. Great energy level, but not hyper and have responded very well to all training. They are a pleasure. It is sad that someone can write something so out of line without thinking to check with others to confirm others experience.

First of all I would like to say that it is a shame that this forum would seem like a venue for valid complaints to be filed against a business in order to warn other's of their experience. At first look, that is what it appears but after further investigation, it would seem as though anyone can post anything.....and in order to defend your personal and professional reputation, you must 'pay' for 'arbitration'.Having been a business owner myself for many years, and having been a part of our local chamber of commerce I can tell you that posting a true legitimate complaint on a web site is Not the answer in actually putting steps into action to resolve an issue without having to Pay to have the complaint removed. I have never seen or heard of any LEGITIMATE complaint resolution venue posting a random person's comments, possibly slanderous in nature, without throroughly investigating the 'CLAIM' prior to impugning the reputation of a possible very reputable business person or company. That allll having been said and done so to point out to those of you reading all of these 'complaints'....here is my own testimonial on CLARK'S GOLDENS;

I have had personal interaction and knowlege of business transacted with Clarks Goldens. They have some of the most beautiful puppies available, of which all come with ahealth guarantee. The owner is also very mindful of who he is selling his puppies to and has regular contact prior to the date of pick up of the puppy. He provides literature as well as verbally advises on all kinds of puppy needs and helpful new puppy owner information. He houses all of his dog's in spacious outside pen/kennel areas; each with shelter in the form ofdog houses which sit up off the ground.The birthing and nursing mothers as well as their litters are housed in a puppy house area with plenty of dry and clean training bedding made of shredded paper. There is a doggie door that allows the new moms to go outside of the heated and cooled puppy house area to the outside withindividual runs asthe puppy househas available areas for 2 new moms and their babies.I could not say that there have never been anylegitimate complaints filed against Clark's however in my own experiences and other's that I have knowlege of and having been several times to this facility, I see no validity to thiscomplaint.I am not saying that the outside adults could not have fleas, or get a tick from being outside. Even having all 3 of my dogs on flea and heartworm meds, I go through bouts wherethe fleas become resistant or a tick hitches a ride during a walk. I can also understand how a domestic animal that mainly lives outside can be very shy and skittish when transitioning to become and indoor 'pet'...espcially on older dog.

Also, I am not sure that anyone that has not had a dealing with a breeder has an idea of what a kennel and breeding facility is like, let alone should be like. I am sure we all have ideas of what WEwould do and what WE feel is appropriate, however, in order to have a license to be a breeder and having had so many transactions with selling hundreds and hundreds of puppies...I am sure that if there were aREAL problem with Clarks...someone Long ago would have legitimately called the humane society or another organization that actually goes out to the property and inspects it and see if the breeder was in compliance with all animal right laws and shut them down if not.

As for comments discouraging adopting a pet, ANY pet from an animal shelter or rescue.... that is truly ignorance in my opinion. I do not judge those who chose to buy a dog from a breeder howeverit only makes moral and common sense to adopt a homeless or rescue animal and provide a good home that is already born and on earth through no fault of their own....without a home. Hopefully in either case, whether chosing to be a animal rescuer or a breeder the animals health and well being is always #1 priority
