#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, October 11, 2017

This is Bobby, the owner of Classic Car Investments. I have been in this buisness for over 20 years and even grew up in it as a child.  I have worked hard to build a good name for myself and my company.  I search for the best cars I can to sell my customers.  We even go the extra mile and spend thousands of dollar fixing everything that needs attention on these 40 to 70 year old cars.  In all my years of doing this, I have never came across so many issues with customers lying to me, trying to get money back. I wish there was a ripoff report for people that make things up and black mail companies for money.

If you read Marks complaints it woud make you think that the car I sold him was a complete peice of junk and needed a full restoration. This all started when Mark sent his own truck to pick up the car. Which was an open 6 car carrier that has really beat up hauling what looded like salvage cars on it already. The trucker loads the car and heads to New Jersey from Arizona.  One week later Mark says he got the car and said he is sending it back to me because i didn't tell him about all the sctraches it had. Well it didn't have any when it left here. I asked him to send me pictures and he did. The car had several, huge big black scratches on the car from the trucker on its trip to him.

I said he needs to take that up with the trucker who did the damage. He bought the car from us, based off of the over 100 pictures I posted online (showing everything) and huge discription. He is right I did own the car for over a year. I bought the car from the original family in southern California. It was a life long California car with it's original California Blue plates and pink slip. The car was not a restored car, but a very clean mostly original car. When I got the car it was from the owners estate so it had been sitting a while (In a Southern California garage of a Million dollar home)  I spent over $6,000 on the car an I have reciepts fixing and replacing everyhting that Mark complained about and said he had to replace. Which I find very interesting as i don't think parts go bad in a year.

I replaced the steering gear box, cleaned and vatted the gas tank, rebuilt the carb, repaired and charged the a/c system, rebuilt radiator, new power top lines, and on and on.  Bascliy everything the would go bad from a car just sitting.  Mark went on to complain about the paint and chrome. I stated to him and in my ad that it was not a new paint job. It was painted 15 to 20 years ago, one time.  I stated the car had very nice, ORIGINAL chrome and trim.  It was not new. Mark said the car was a rust bucket. I told him prove it. Before I start this one. This car has never left the state of California until I bought it and brough it to Arizona. I personally had the car on the rack one week before he got it, to have the gas tank removed and cleaned and vatted because we noticed it had some dirt in the fuel filter. So I wanted it shipped with no issues for Mark.

To continue, Mark send me close up pictures of the underside of a car with rust saying it was the car i sold him.  I 200% knew he was lying to me and i called him out on it.  He had nothing to say. Then to show you how crazy Mark is. He sends the car to a body shop and completley strips all the paint off of the car, Looking for rust!!!! He finds a couple small spots in the bottom of the fender that were probably fixed 20 years ago. Again that is a common spot for rust and by no means makes this car a rust bucket. It was also nothing i could see unless I striped the paint off the car, which I was not going to do or any one would normally do.  So I offered him around $1,500 back to just go away and fix his little rust sport.  He then wanted $3,500 which I said no to. Then he wanted $10K and it is $15K i guess.  I don't know what this gentlemans problem is and I don't think I will ever figure it out.

I will also tell you just before he bought the car. I had another gentleman wanted his friend to buy it but needed to sell his car first.  The gentleman was a long time member of the Cadillac club and did automotive insections for a living. He absolutly loved that car and thought is was in amazing conditon.  I would not have kept the car for a year if it was a peice of sh*t. I deal in nice cars and would only have nice cars for myself.

In closing, this all started with sctraches that his truck driver put in the car. He wanted me to take the car back which i would have done if the paint was not all scratched up.  If I knew he was just going to make things up later and become this much of a pain in the a*s, I would have just bit the bullet and taken the car back. At this point. I can't even do that because the car was completely taken apart and paint stripped off it and who knows what else he did to it.  This guy is his own worst enemy!!

Because of people like Mark, it make this buesness and hobby harder everyday. No matter what you do or how hard you try. Some people will never be happy!!
